Was never a game they looked like losing but yeah it was a strange one. I think VAR might have given that penalty shout against Gomez, then Liverpool score soon after.
The sending off finished the game and scoring 2 goals in injury time made it look an easier game than it was, West Ham (manager included) had given up at that stage.

Good win in a  predictably tight away game. Five wins from six, although they've only played lesser teams so far. But you can only beat what's in front of you! 😎

Capt Pat

2-0 to Liverpool in the end is what counts but Bologna like Atalanta were good which is not a surprise. Ronnie expected Liverpool to win 6 or 7 nil.

From the Bunker

Leipzig, Leverkusen and Madrid to come over the next couple of weeks.

Still don't understand the format, in that Pool seemed to get a lot of strong teams but hey ho on we go

Yeah, the real stuff starts now after a relatively soft start to the season. If they're still near the top of both tables by December, we'll know Slot is a serious operator.

Fancied Pool against Madrid as they're always slow starters but I'm guessing last nights result will shake them from their slumber. Dammit

Yea its not a fair system and you are at the mercy of the draw. Liverpool unquestionably have a hard list.

Is there anything in the new format that means you cant draw or less likely to draw one of teams in the knockout stage that you have already played against?

Capt Pat

A 1 0 win for Liverpool against Crystal palace.  Did anyone see it? Was the performance good?

Brendan

Going by reports they're in trouble when they finally come up against a good team, miss far too many chances

First half very good and should've been 2 or 3 up, Palace were absolute gack.

Second half was very disjointed and nervy at the end. Alisson going off injured and no Kelleher on the bench made it interesting. Young Jaros did alright

Alexis Mac Allister going off at half time didn't help.
Thought Palace should have had a pen also.
Liverpool lucky enough to get the win imo.

1-0 away win. Clean sheet, tight game, winning ugly is the sign of a good team  ;D
