Post by: Eamonnca1 on January 13, 2023, 07:54:04 PM
48 teams. 3 extra slots for UEFA. Will it make much of a difference to Ireland's chances of qualifying?

Ireland qualified for the 2012 euros via the playoff and won nul points . There is  no point in going to the major tournaments and having Dunnes selling Ireland pyjamas and everyone at home excited and the team out of its depth.  They were just makeweights. Going to the World Cup with a  a UEFA ranking above 20 would be the same . FIFA are a shower of money grabbing hoors who do not care about quality.

In fairness the Ireland team did poorly but they were given a bastard draw as 2 of the teams in the group ended up in the final ffs and Croatia were also a very good team.
