Quote from: tiempo on May 02, 2024, 09:51:18 AMThe level of self-agrandising by Tommy Nibs leads me to think he's gone full parody and is only saying 'most powerful yet' on a weekly basis as an in-joke/piss take. Does grate at times, trying to sound nuanced with phrases like 'the modern GAA calendar'
Like all platforms, they flit from the GAA being in existential crisis to a life affirming Championship on a weekly basis depending on the most recent high profile game. If Down-Armagh had been the only game last weekend there would no doubt have been an inquest on various rules, coaching and the provincial system - but because Tyrone-Donegal was a bit more watchable and they got an interview with Ryan McHugh then all is right with the world ... until next week.
Was it ever confirmed what happened Thomas Kane, was he cannibalised by Nibs in the end?
I have to say Mark Sidebottom has aged like a fine wine, the silver fox, one for the mums and anyone with a wandering eye

A far cry from Ewan McKenna.Quote from: tiempo on April 12, 2024, 02:40:20 PMLatest podcast was a bit ott in terms of GAA exceptionalism, GAA has its share of fraud, spivs, spoofers, and wrong'uns - Joe's experience seems akin to Tom Cruise involvement in Scientology
And why so much hate for Micky Harte - referred to as 'that man' in the latest episode, a bit much
I used to find Brolly really interesting, he actually seems to be becoming slightly unhinged.
I can easily see him totally ostracised in the media world and an Ewan MacKenna type character in a few years
Don't know an awful lot about McKenna or his background, but Brolly and him share a similar narcissistic trait, it's all about them and being the centre of attention even if that is offending people.
The Harte thing is Joe being Joe, saying something controversial so that he is "trending" on social media, there must be an adrenaline hit in it for people wired like Joe.
That's exactly right. As Oscar Wilde Said , "there's only one thing worse than being talked about , and that's not being talked about".
Brolly has to be in the limelight, regardless of who suffers or who he insults. He just needs to be centre of attention . The Mickey Harte thing is just the latest thing
It's fairly tiresome at this point. I see he will now not let his entrenched hatred towards Mickey Harte stop him attending games. He loves this Derry team now that they're going somewhere, the same group who told him to run on when he tried to enter the Clones changing rooms and bask in their glory after we beat Donegal 2 years ago.
Quote from: Capt Pat on April 11, 2024, 09:56:21 PMKelleher should have held onto the third as well instead of spilling it to the scorer.
A terrible performance from Liverpool way under par.
Quote from: smort on April 09, 2024, 10:34:38 PMIs the all-star team still decided by trial matches?
Just seen the team posted there and no players from Omagh, Dungannon or Donaghmore
Quote from: Capt Pat on April 06, 2024, 09:05:38 PMClare deserved it in the end I think. But the ref nearly handed the result to Kilkenny with the wrong decision to give Kilkenny a penalty and Rodgers a black card. Justice was done when Cody missed the penalty.
