Kenny has unearthed two speed merchants who can score in Obafemi and Ogbene. Donít know if Ogbene was injured but he should have tried that combo yesterday. They will trouble any team. Overall he has decent players to work with. But I donít know if heís a strong leader where players will give an arm and a leg. He has a good football philosophy and if he was still U21 manager I think we would have qualified. I think he better serves Irish football in youth setups as did Brian Kerr. But that does not necessarily translate into a good senior manager. It was like when Mark Lawrenson scored the famous goal to secure that 1-0 win away to Scotland that was instrumental in us qualifying for Euro 88 and he thought Jack Charlton would have a big hug for him and all he got was a bollocking for a mistake he made. Jack had them in high alert. You donít get that sense here.

Itís mainly a championship level team
There are 3 premier league players who start on what seems to be his first choice team now and a couple who are in league 1
Not exactly a golden generation

Two big calls from the officials today regarding umpires being over ruled
The ref over ruled his two umpires for Mayobridges first point, commentators were adamant it was wide and others in the crowd
Then a Duff point late on was given by the umpires and ref but ruled out by the linesman

That said Mayobridge were the better team overall

Loughinsinisland were poor but to be honest, the Town showed a fight and their aim now is to stay in the senior championship and regroup for the next season. Castlewellan is a strong club who needs to be producing players for our county like before, they need more male footballers involved in coaching as hurling has taken over. It's good to see the minors in a championship final albeit at B level but it's a start.

Are there going to be play offs for relegation from the SFC and IFC again, or are they going to go back to doing it via league position like they used to do

So after 5 or so years of seeing off everyone outside the top 4 with no more difficulty than a child learning to suck on a dummy, footballís extraordinary disinterest in a level playing field has seen City being allowed to buy Haaland, and ensure that their almost every game is a procession.

Itís 2 weeks in and I hate football on so many levels.

Being allowed to lol
How were they going to stop the most successful team of the last decade in the most lucrative league in the world signing a player for 51m, a relative bargain on all fronts given what some other players have gone for.

Also, theyíve played two games

Thatís really my point. Football could only be a better spectacle if the authorities stepped in and prevented cartels. People laugh at the French league. Thatís what City are going to the PL.

Difference is the French league doesnít have other clubs who spend similar amounts to PSG
United have spent similar to City in the last decade
Chelsea wouldnít be far off it either and have a massive squad

City shouldnít be punished for being well coached and doing good transfer business while United have McTominay and Dalot still running about after spending £1bn

City had 17 outfield players with Liverpool and Chelsea 22
All teams had 3 goalkeepers

City had a smaller squad this season than Liverpool and Chelsea. A list  of first team senior players was doing the rounds a few months ago and City had 18 compared to 22 and 23 at the other clubs
They lost Mendy and Torres from that squad and still won the league.

Iíd expect them to add a left back and midfielder to replace Fernandinho as well as Haaland so really hard to see them not winning it again next year when theyíve won the last two without an actual striker

Also Guardiola actually doesnít make that many subs. In a few games he didnít win this year he was criticised for not bringing anyone on to change things. The 5 sub thing wonít change much

Down wonít be far away from Monaghan.

Monaghan have spent a decade now getting more than the sum of their parts. Their approach allows them to compete with the best. But it doesnít magic up an ability to put weaker opponents to the sword.

Based on what exactly?
Struggling to make a case for Down keeping the game competitive

Roscommon looked like they were going to score with every attack, defence miles off it
Kick outs still a big issue as well
