There is little risk hitting a 2 point shot wide since the kick out can be pressured and if it falls short you can 'create' a goal chance with a bit of chaos. Wasn't much discussion on commentary on this. The whistle went well before the "goal" so impossible to tell if it would have resulted from an advantage. Could have been stopped because of a foul by the Tyrone forward or just a bad application of the advantage rule we will probably never know.

The Rafferty incident looked a black card for a trip. Tyrone made too many mistakes in the forward line turning ball over.

McEldowney fit and starting would certainly boost the chances if both him and JS out I would make Tyrone favourites. Hope JS has a full and as quick a recovery as possible.

One of the reasons NI doesn't work is because we politicise everything. Casement's funding was part of a package splitting money for perceived green and orange sports projects - Rugby can be on the fence if it wants. When Windsor Park and Ravenhill got upgraded there was no downside to anyone who wanted to complain about Casement funding as their part of the bargain had already been delivered. It then became something for certain parts of Unionism to whinge about for their own political purposes.
Ulster Council may have started it with an overly ambitious plan, but the failures spiralled and continue for reasons beyond their control.
The Lisanelly / Strule shared campus in Omagh, which is I think relatively non-contentious, was started 2013 still not finished and very far from being on budget. It doesn't get anything like the same attention as no one can blame the other side for failings or say they benefit too much. But it does show a certain inability to get stuff done properly.

Hopefully in the near future the GAA will know how much money is available and build an appropriate stadium for the needs of the association and we can all attend an Ulster final in Belfast then complain about the parking.

I'm not sure how you could have an unfair subsidy in comparison to a Council owned venue which is funded through local taxes. Concerts held at these venues are perhaps more likely to have a competitive advantage as local authorities can argue that the wider economic benefits of an event mean the use of a venue is viable when a private operator may not.

You are right WW it is a guessing game as to what is going on. I'm trying to settle on a guess, accepting the decision and no shouting at the ref.

In the underage games and senior game I have seen everything seems to being taken account of when it is seen. Refs have moved ball forward for not handing it back and dissent and a 21m free for breaking the 3 up rule. Also seen free given for dissent from mentors on sideline. Referees would be better pushing the rules now if it became stricter at championship time they would get far more stick.
3 up looks very hard to manage, not sure if I was a ref I would say I was ignoring it, would rather say I can only call what I see.

I thought for the solo and go, you don't have to take the solo straight away, you can 'go and solo', (as well as 'solo and go'). Definitely seen some refs implement that.

I will go back to a previous point I am unsure on. The solo and go by rule quoted earlier should be must be taken immediately after the free has been awarded and without undue delay. This should mean a go and solo is not permitted as it is neither  immediate nor without delay. Don't know why both terms are  needed in the rule.

We might poke fun at Derrys demise at senior level but what the he'll are they doing at underage level absolute conveyor belt of top class teams. Big win again tonight.

Derry have to be one of the most successful counties in Ireland in recent times at underage and school level. But it must be head scratching for Derry folk why that can't seem to carry into the senior team. Especially when you look at other Ulster counties like Donegal, Armagh and Monaghan who haven't been as successful at underage level but more successful at senior.

Derry have won 2 of 4 (including 2025 which we can't win) Ulster Championships and a National Football League.
Armagh haven't won Ulster since 2008, and Monaghan since 2015.
Armagh have the All-Ireland, Donegal have an Ulster Championship in the same timeframe.
Armagh fans would I imagine take their All Ireland ahead of all Derry's wins and Donegal fans are certainly more optimistic of the future.
But between the three counties you mention Derry could be considered the most successful over the recent period so I am not sure it makes your argument that underage success "can't seem to carry into the senior team".

Both previous games streamed by Ulster GAA, this one wasn't. Don't think the dodgy box will deliver this evening.
