I dont know what shape antrim are trying to play now, push up, lose the ball, opposite player breaks into a huge space, rinse and repeat and the same thing happened against offaly.

Wind was strong today but instead of keeping it low balls were fired high and gained very little distance, weve gone backwards no doubt.

I also notice the captain changed. I get the impression (ignoring the absolute terrible performance which I'm reluctant to put at players door) that all is not well in the camp.

Is Paddy Burke not injured and it's him and Nigel as captains?

Was refereeing today so didn't see it but we are not playing well but need to win the games that keep us up.

With missing two top forwards (one retired other injured) we seem to lack that power up there

Waterford were streets ahead of us today, physically, tactically, hurling wise.

There is only so much you can do when there is a deficit in ability before the ball is thrown in but some really puzzling stuff from the players.

I dunno if they are confused about "systems" but surely at some stage you have to get back to basics and mark your man and get the nearest jersey.

The amount of times in the second half there was a Waterford player standing in 15-20 yds of space was insane.
Let no-one say the best hurlers belong to the past. They are with us now, and better yet to come

Watched online. I'm not sure about players being responsible. There's not anyone there who didn't play under Gleeson from what I can see so they didn't lose ability over the winter.
Also heard players got a roasting after a previous game and thus it strikes me like there is some blanks only those on the inside would be able to fill in.

They got a roasting during the previous game too.

What's the story with Ryan McGarry? I don't think he has started in the league and wasn't named in squad today? Injured, out of favour or off panel?

Ate the last Roast Spud one night and Davy wanted it. Kicked off the panel.

Im sure I saw him warming up at various stages along the sideline

It's hard to believe Carlow beat this Waterford team because on today's performance they are a serious outfit- slick, physical, and smart. That said, I don't think it would be possible for Antrim to play as badly again.

Dublin, Offaly and Waterford are 3 top class sides. For me, the most disappointing observation is that in all three games the amount of times we carry the ball out of defence and into oncoming highly aggressive opposition traffic only to lose possession cheaply is criminal.

That line gets used after every match at the minute!

Is now time enough to start being worried MR2, maybe I was wrong to be so concerned after the first game against Dublin.

Problem is I'm seeing the same problems being repeated time and time again aligned to some crazy tactical decisions.

I'll be more worried when Carlow and Laois beat us, wasn't at the game so can't comment but from the reports its a poor show at home where we have generally put in a shift against all opposition, its disappointing. There were some elements that I seen from us in preseason stuff that I thought was different to the style we have played in the past.

Our county hurlers haven't become poor overnight, so the system on the face of it isn't suited or we lack the personnel to apply it or we haven't got up to speed with it. We have a couple of games to fix it, and hopefully we can

I think we will see a better response vs Carlow this Sunday. The new system is taking time for players to get accustomed to, and they will get there. If we beat Carlow and Laois and are sitting on 6 points then this league could look a whole lot different.

Personally I'd be in the worried camp. We were at a much higher level last year and then there are what sounds like excuses. I hope I am wrong and MR is right. We'll know better by the end of the league but I don't think it looks good so far. I don't expect him to be winning AIs or anything but we'd have been a lot more competitive in at least 2 of these games last year.
