General discussion / Driving license expired
March 09, 2011, 01:50:16 PM
This morning on my way to work, the car in front stopped suddenly to let oncoming traffic through as there had been a collision on the other side of the road. (Either that or he stopped for a nose). The car behind me who had been driving up my ass for the previous 3 miles couldn't get stopped in time and ended up slamming into me.

There was a good bit of damage to the back of my car and his was totally wrecked, it had to be towed away.

So as my license is expired-am I covered by my insurance. I've since had a call to say his insurance company will take the car away, give me a courtesy car and then fix it.

Listening to this story on the news and i hope to God all these men make it out ok, but if you had been trapped down a mine shaft for over 2 months, whats the first thing you would do/first feed you would want when you got out.

Is there a way you can save a video from youtube onto a memory stick and play it at school. Youtube itself is blocked by the powers that be.

Any help would be appreciated as i am a technologically challenged person.

tried to find a thread on this topic but didn't come across one.

Heard 'Cats in the cradle' tonight for the first time in years and the song will forver remind me of a 'troubles' ad that was shown on tv in the 90s.

Also, 'Wake me up when September ends' reminds me of tyrone winning the all-ireland.  It was used in the rte montage of clips.

OK, now I've got your attention- was just wondering whats people's take on Lough Derg-has anyone did the 3 day vigil?

I did it for the second time last summer and hope to go back in thanksgiving this year.

I'm not a holy-roller but I do have faith and as George Michael said - you gotta have faith

Well these made me laugh anyways.

The following questions were set in last year's GCSE examinations in Swindon

These are genuine responses from 16 year olds

General discussion / New or Used-Advice?
March 04, 2009, 11:09:46 PM
Apologies if this thread has been done to death- but my little '99 saxo is up for MOT and Tax and as i only paid £200 for it- im thinking of going my separate ways with it.
I know sweet FA about cars and the like but- went to a Vauxhall dealer the day and a new corsa took my fancy for £220 per month over a 36 month period plus £1500 deposit.
Would i be better looking into the used car market?

General discussion / Boys and Girls Alone

Meant to mention this last night after watching this- and forgot to check if it has been mentioned before, but it was the chat of the staffroom today with people for and against the concept of the programme.
Basically- ten children aged between 8 and 11 are living without adults for 2 weeks.  In last night's episode the both houses got £500 to spend on food/entertainment for three days and they first had to navigate their way to the shop. I thought it made interesting, if a little unnerving viewing.

Well, it worked for me anyways.

Clooney's ER return is confirmed
It seems that George Clooney will be donning his white coat and stethoscope one last time.

Sources have apparently confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that the star will be reprising his role of Dr Doug Ross on ER in the final series of the show.

According to reports, the actor is this week set to film scenes for an appearance on the medical drama which made his name.

The final episode of ER will air in the US on April 2. A one-hour retrospective clip show will run just before the final episode airs.

George first appeared as Doug in 1994.
