Ah yeah, but it's there to be played, so there's always a point.

Our record is dire, but there are a few good performances there too in fairness. Monaghan in 2011 was a good win, as was Kildare back in the blood sub controversy. (I think that was that game). That next game in Wexford was very disheartening. The losses away to Limerick and Carlow were low points as well.

Nope 2006 was the blood sub. 2004 was when Kildare unleashed the machine that was Willie Heffernan for the first time.

Ah what might have been eh? Big Willie looked destined for great things back then.

Offaly have some talented youngsters who should be doing a lot better than they are at the moment. In the last few years they've beaten Kildare u21 teams, the bulk of which make up most of our senior team now. I don't know whether that says more about the failings of Kildare's u21 setup or Offaly's senior setup.

Kellaghan seems to be doing good work with the minor team this year. He had great success with Monasterevin and he seems to be getting Athy back to where they were a few years ago now. Is he the Offaly senior manager in waiting?
There's Seán Brady going in, what dya think Seán?

Hard to know DH. Would seem to be the logical choice, and would fit offalys cost model, but there may be some drastic action taken after McDonnell is finished up.
