The podcast is great and 90+% of the time niblock is ok but there's the odd time you're listening thinking what the hell - e.g. I thought he pushed McGuigan quite hard to say he was an alcoholic which there was no need for at all and he just came out of the blue to say Dan Gordon sounded bitter with Down county board about getting injured before the AI final in 2010 when he didn't at all. Sometimes chases a headline... (which maybe he has to do tbf to him).

I thought McGinnity was an interesting enough guest. Always remember him as very serious on the championship but came across  guy with a good sense of humour.

Quote from: weareros on Today at 12:43:34 PMHave been saying a long time that Rice is overrated. Now he fair burst the lungs singing the British anthem but that's all he did. Shame someone like that ever got to sully the Irish geansaĆ.

Bellingham or Foden I don't think are overrated but Rice very over rated. He doesn't have good enough technical ability. The new story seems to be that England don't know how to replace Kalvin Phillips. Sure he's useless ;D

I do think Saka is a bit overrated. When the going gets tough he seems to go a bit missing. Definitely a gifted player but in one off games I think he can be managed (from an opposition point of view).

I think it's a lot worse post covid too. Tbf Dublin has it's moments too. Dunno if it's  big city thing or whether maybe it's  bit worse in the north.

It's not a good question though - it's a stunt.

Why is a work to rule strike causing them so many problems?? Probably doesn't speak volumes for them I imagine..

They're a poor team. No concerns about them winning it.

Quote from: Capt Pat on June 20, 2024, 07:14:48 PMEngland were lucky to get the draw. The Danes gifted them the opening goal. So far with all the great attacking talent England haven't created or scored a good goal in two games against lesser teams.

Southgate a poor manager which is good as they should have a good team for once.

It was a stunt to gain attention and to try and to try and make her look bad. That was it.

Antrim / Re: Antrim Football Thread

What was the story with county players last night? I saw a few knocking round on some of the reports I read which I was surprised at.

Ballymena I think, and to  lesser degree Randalstown, surprise stories of the league. St Galls look to be dropping off a bit after starting wel which also looks to coincide with less of the older guard playing. Still they have McCabe and Burns to come back too though from county. St Brigids you would have expected at some point to rise up too.

Irrespective of all that I would say Cargin would still be a good bit ahead of anyone. Portglenone look like being in the pack next and jury seems out on Creggan / LD as being quite at that level at the minute.

I don't think it means as little as you think. The problem this year and last was that the teams who won it got done in the first round and that really jolted their confidence and gave them much much harder draws in the knockout stages. They're still good teams.

Explains it thanks. I wish we were 15th but I'd have us a few more places down and our opposition on Sunday a bit closer to us.

Looking at it from an antrim perspective while for us we're doing well there is no reason we should be above Sligo as they finished higher in league and in TC group. Then Clare, Meath and Westmeath you would question why we're above too.

Not sure how these rankings were concocted.
