Quote from: thewobbler on May 09, 2024, 10:03:32 PMI honestly would love a rule passed somehow somewhere that sellers cannot cross county lines.

Newry Shamrocks, Burren, Mayobridge etc are fundraising, and I'm happy to support it. But a club from e.g Derry? What in holy f**k are they doing taking GAA money out of Down?

If you arrive at my door the first thing I'll ask is "do you pay your senior manager?"
And if the answer is yes, then you can f**k right off

If you've money for that, then you've got your priorities all wrong.

Do managers in any clubs get their filled envelopes from club funds? Maybe they do, I'm not sure, but the ones I know of are all paid by benefactors (allegedly of course)

One of the ones at my door recently is a senior club which I won't name. They are not raising for a hub or new facilities or that, its just to raise money for the club.
I'd imagine that's where the money raised will end up.

2 of the 5 sellers went around the back of the neighbours house when there was no answer and looked in through the kitchen window. I've seen the cctv.

General discussion / Ticket sellers....

Does anyone else think its getting ridiculous? We've had our 3rd knock at the door in a week. 5th in a few months. It feels like every club in the country is selling £20 tickets for a raffle at the minute.

Do people buy every ticket that comes to the door? Do they hide under the stairs?

Ticket sellers on here... what's the success rate like?

What would be taking you up the road again?

Derry people don't like spending money.

Theres nothing new about any of this though. Have people never watched Slipknot, Black Sabbath, etc?
Iron Maiden played here last year with a pentagram on stage and I don't recall a peep from anyone.

End of the day, it's Eurovision. Who cares.
Let's go back to 2 priests singing about a horse.

Yes get rid of the man who has scored 36 goals this season.

Blank means no transfer.
Hopefully they'll be all eliminated on Count 1 making it irrelevant.

They won't go hmmmmm ... , I'd say more likely to say the Government hired a load of foreigners to  tear up all their votes

Lol

In STV you're actually better giving them a really really low preference. If you leave it blank they don't know that you left it blank.
If you give them a 10 or whatever, whenever the transfers get to that stage (if they do), then they will see that people out there gave them a 10th preference and maybe for a moment go... "hmmm".

Quote from: Captain Scarlet on May 07, 2024, 12:11:06 PMAlso, how did the GAA promote rugby? If memory serves me there was no press nights in some hurling counties in recent years...the rugby lads have a Captain's Run with all media there and people chatting.

HURLING MEN are very sensitive.

"Hurling needs help and we're not getting it. It's just not being promoted. The diamond in our sporting crown that's unique to us and we're not promoting it."

Can't believe this argument is still being made. There have never been more games free to air than now yet somehow it isn't enough.

And as Joe (rightly and constantly) bemoans the likes of Trump, the Tories, Israeli gov't etc for getting the lie out first, because that's the message that'll stick more the actual truth, he does the very same re the GAA.

Even our red hand neighbours would love to see us win Sam the year to see the hooer squirm, yes? Surely  ???

Thought about it there.

It wouldn't be worth it sorry!

Fergal McCusker is the one texting brolly one line sentences after games now according to his Indo post this week.

Captain of Titanic too. What a guy

Met him last September and couldn't get over how frail he was. Great man though, had time for everyone. I saw yesterday he had cancelled Comic Con this weekend so must have been quick enough at the end.
