CONDOLENCES – It is with great sadness that the Club acknowledges the deaths of Patsy Morgan last week and Eugene Fegan this morning.

Patsy was a distinguished goalkeeper for the Club in the '70's and a Club benefactor.

Eugene served the Club both as player and administrator, and was rewarded for his years of service by winning our Hall of Fame in 2011.

Mary Queen of the Gael have mercy on their souls.

Armagh Harps GFC, along with our fellow City Gaels in Pearse Og GAC, St Brigid's Camogie Club, Cuchulainn Hurling Club and Sean Quinn Handball Club, are helping to promote a "Friends of Donal Powell Table Quiz". The quiz will take place on Saturday 23 March at 9.00 pm in the Pearse Og Social Club.

This event has been arranged to remember and celebrate the life of Donal Powell, who tragically passed away at a very young age. The quiz will mark twenty years since Donal's untimely passing on 20 March 1993.

Donal was a well known and popular GAA figure, who could count many Harps' men as good friends, despite the great rivalry between ourselves and Pearse Og! All the slagging was very much of the light hearted variety, and is remembered fondly as I write this!!

The Quiz Master is none other than our fellow Gael and Club Chaplain, Fr Rory, and teams of 5 (or 6) are invited to partake at a cost of £5 per person including a light super. All proceeds will be donated to Newry Hospice.

Please pass the word on and show your support by entering a team on the night.

I heard this was a roaring success, Pablo would have been proud to see his nearest and dearest there to celebrate his life and legacy, well done all involved.

1 full year from a post in this once fine thread.

Great start to the year with an away win at Whitcross, sadly working so didnt catch it but scoreline suggests a comfortable win

And followed up with a good win at Dromintee in a match that we probably made more hard work of than should have been the case. Like yourself Spirit, I missed the matches due to work but got to see the game tonight!!  ;D  A most rewarding experience - three wins from three games - again made hard work of a match we should have closed out earlier, but a win is a win, particularly over our nearest and dearest!   8)

The Iceman

heard rumours that some of the OG's lads made big money on them losing to the harps?
I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight

Oraisteach

The Harps can't be half bad if they beat Maghery.  Who was the lad who scored a rake of points in the match?

PP going 1/12 Crossmaglen 13/2 harps. Not giving us much of a squeak there.
