Leitrim v Sligo rescheduled game is on this Wednesday night under lights in Cloone,  Prenty and Co could have rescheduled that final dead rubber Galway v Roscommon group game for tomorrow also and then play the final on Sunday.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

That makes even less sense than what's happening. The Sunday game is clashing with club matches and at least having the final in the week off is better than jamming two games extra in ten days or so before the start of the league.

Those club matches should have been scheduled for Saturday as the All Ireland Intermediate and Junior finals will be played on Saturday. It make more sense because that dead rubber game with mostly fringe players starting would be got out of the way ASAP and the FBD final then wouldn't have to played in the middle of NFL in already busy schedule.

I don't see how playing the AISFs the day before because the final may be played on a Saturday - are players supposed to be getting used to playing on Saturdays or something? The FBD is by far the lesser competition and should be the one moving to accommodate.

The only solution was to make the group game the final and move it to Saturday or Friday night. Anything else is just messing about.

Apart from the 2 or 3 Glaveys people nobody else will want to go to both matches this weekend.
Also why are club finals on a Saturday yet the Semis are on Sunday?
Surely the Final is more befitting of a Sunday fixture?

Ya what, lad? The die hard thousand or so Roscommon supporters who travelled to Annaduff in a storm a few days after New Years would definitely have gone to both if they had the opportunity. They aren't going to these matches in the hopes of FBD league glory, that's for damn sure.

Most diehard Ros supporters who went to Annaduff wouldn't be shockin interested about your lot from out in the wilds near Mayo.

Hurling finals are on the Sunday I think.

The counties should make a gentleman's agreement to play the final on Sunday and field the minors in February. The "result" can be corrected by letting someone score if needs be in the last few minutes.

That would "maintain the integrity" of the competition. Did you ever hear such rubbish.

The Clonbur pitch looked a bit soft for the Galway v Leitrim game last Sunday.

Isn't Prenty on record as saying the FBD should be scrapped?
