Who do you think runs a country

I do believe it is the banks that run a country because as you know "he who controls the money controls the country"

Mayer Amschel Rothschild (founder of the banking dynasty) is often attributed with the quote;
"Permit me to issue and control the money of a nation, and I care not who makes its laws."
Joe Duffy

Indeed. On a macro level I'd say this wouldn't be a million miles from the truth.
The most influential media outlet
The public service.
The Germans.
The elites. Top 1%. Media mostly self censor and keep a lid on dissent. So many things never make it into the narrative such as what is the f**king problem with building council homes for everyone on the waiting list. 2008 was interesting because the Irish elites lost their touch. Even RTE was clueless. The Irish Times panicked and ran opeds regarding reform written by people who actually knew what they were talking about. Hegemony is never permanent either and publics can be volatile. Especially when the mask slips.
The Moderators.
Those who print the money.
All the people mentioned so far would be more the people Who ruins a country?

They're the only lobby groups?
If you look at who the political parties actually work for, public sector workers and pensioners are the biggest lobbies.
Those who serially enter marathons?

Certainly not, but they are the wealthiest (as per your statement).
Ah I see. I did use the plural but I see what you mean.
most boring answer the electorate and those they elect.
People are saying the banks , the biggest bank in the country is owned by the State.
the next biggest one is completely under the thumb of the state.
and for get about how the 'Government bailed the banks out'
it was the people with money in the banks that got bailed out. the shareholders lost 95% of their money all senior managers bar one was shifted and not one Cent was lost buy a depositor
Why
because the electorate would not stand for it

I am a shareholder in the bank and lost 80% of my investment . I did not see any bail out and quiet rightly ,
I took my chances and lost, if it was AIB it would have been even worse,
Now if one depositor had lost money can you imagine the squealing that would take place about 'Not bailing out the banks'
i think i got a masonic hand shake the other day, well not masonic this fella would moist likely have been a member of the Knights, so i assume it was their version of it. then again it might just have been an awkward handshake.
i wounder how much influence the likes of the knights have though?
i say it might be a bit more then we think, this guy was young 35-40 and very ambitious he is new to the area and wouldn't know my politics so might have been trying me out.
maybe i have just been reading too many Benjamin black novels!!
In the hillsborough disaster enquiry free masons are not allowed to be involved due to one of the police guys being investigated being a free mason.(That was in the liverpool echo last week)
