Is Brennan a Meath man or Dublin. Sounds like a Dub but have it in my head that he's Rathoath or Dunboyne or somewhere like that?

Brennan is from Dublin but has lived in Dunboyne for last 20 plus years. He played with Dunboyne after transferring from Crokes.

Yes, this is the best option available to us. Bernard Flynn's name was part of the ticket but seems to have disappeared but no reason given. Anyway I'm very happy with this. These lads know what the top of the game is like in modern times unlike the last set up which was built around personalities and reputations from the 80's and 90's.

Despite what's being said there is enough talent in Meath to make a decent fist of it and be a division 1 team, especially with the  Minor All Ireland winners still to come through. I'm genuinely optimistic for the first time in about 4 years about the senior team.
It won't be the next manager but the one after that Meath will become competitive again - MO'D 2016

Will they target the league big time next year?

Considering the best 8 teams are in division 1 next year might never get a better opportunity to get out of Divison 2.

Hard to know. Brennan will still be with Crokes up till the end of the club season so I don't know how much time they'll have together to prepare or how thats going to work. Hopefully they have some plan for this but it's hard to say at this point. If its an issue hopefully we improve as the league goes on rather than getting worse as it went last year.

he's originally from Dublin but living in dunboyne for years played for them when the won the county championship, managed them too. He definitely went native, if I remember correctly he was also part of Andy mcentee backroom team when we got to super 8s and division 1. (Could be a year out on that , or maybe a different Brennan ) definitely has the credentials to take the job , am I happy ? After the last two years tbh I'd be happy with anyone taking over, we were very near a cliff edge where I felt another year would have put any hope of Meath been competitive in next decade totally out of reach.
So for me to get somebody the calibre of RB I am ecstatic, lar had also a very good set up and there wouldn't have been much between them. But the Ulster influence on RB ticket swung it for me, Meath for decades has struggled v Ulster teams (apart from Down who play a mostly traditional brand of football) so hopefully a new mindset, a more new type of style and play.
So am I happy ? I'm over the moon.

Brennan is leaving Crokes at the end of the Dublin Championship regardless if they win it or not.

In Contrast; Malachy O'Rourke is staying with Glen until their year is over.

Even if they do target the league will be nothing easy with Roscommon, Monaghan,Cork and neighbours Louth pushing hard for promotion and those 4 are around the same level in quality as the bottom 2 or 3 in division 1.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Gabriel Bannigan has been confirmed as the new manager of Monaghan, replacing Vinny Corey who stepped down in August after two seasons in charge.

Former Leitrim manager Andy Moran is part of his backroom team along with John McElhone and Damien Freeman.

Funny it's took him so long to come out with this. Perhaps Derry county board are behind it?

No doubt there is a PR professional in the background here pulling the strings not only on behalf of RG but in conjunction with whatever county team he will be taking over in the next few weeks which seems inevitable.

The ducks are all being lined up in a row.

IF he is going back to Derry it shows what a complete disaster they are. If he does comeback and they fail to win an AI which is what they are after, all the negative press and blacklash they will recieve will be for nothing. Bringing him back wil put massive pressure on the team to succeed, same as when the appointed MH which again ended in disaster.

Maybe that's the view from a Tyrone perspective looking in but there are no expectations in Derry of an AI or of Derry being a complete disaster. The whole situation was outside the control of DCB - apart from the appointment of MH which was never a wise move. Not because he's Tyrone, but because his views on the game are not current.
We stopped being competitive under MH, we were competitive under RG.
Of course we'd all love an AI, but to be in the conversation and to be competitive with the top teams gives hope.
Who ever the new manager is, so long as we are getting performances and can compete with the top teams I don't think there will be pressure to win an AI - just hope that we can.
That hype all comes from the media.

God14

There's an incredible reek of desperation about Derry.
Absolutely desperate for an All Ireland.
