Angie Phillips off the weather on BBC Newsline
Totally agree her repeated use of the L word when referring to Derry led to me to send in a complaint about it to the BBC, doesn't seem to have done a big pile of good though( Oh and Nadine Coyle too, hard to believe something as easy on the eyes can be so sore on the ears )

Back in the 50/60's  there would have been occasions when four of the Gribben brothers from Newbridge would have been playing for Derry , with three of then playing against Dublin in the 58 all Ireland-Hugh Frances, Owen and Roddy who was the player manager

 Eammon O'Hara, without a shadow of a doubt his match reports are full of inaccuracies, with no fluency nor substance.

Who is Cathal McKeever?
younger brother of Kieran and Emmet from Dungiven, played for Derry against Monaghan in the championship last year, spent the previous year in New york where he played for them in both football and hurling in the championship. A good club player who would be even better if he concentrated on playing the game as opposed to trying to wind opponents up , lacks a bit of pace to be a top county player though, discipline off the field ( or lack off it ) is a problem too

Derry -Declan McNicholl who emigrated in the mid 80's( better than Dermot) and Eunan O'kane who was the most naturally talented of the Derry Minor team of 89
Tyrone- Sean Teague the most complete full back I have seen , cut down before his prime through injury
Fermanagh- Mark ( Tyson) Gallagher outrageously talented (lazy though)

let them strike
let the county boards bring in the u21 teams or next best players in the county.
The novelty alone would delight players and supporters.

Let these gpa twits see that they are not going to hold the association to ransom.
If money is what they want, then just give up football to concentrate on work.
Agree 100% with you,there may have been a time in the past when County players weren't looked after the way they should have been but not any more.In a similar vein the benefits that many County Players enjoy are plain to be seen in areas such as employment , how many of us do not know a County player who has gained a  job that  he would struggle to get if he were not a County man ;Bank officials, Sales Reps, Guards,Publicans ,Sports Coaches and Quantity Surveyors  come Teachers(See Paddy Bradley)

GAA Discussion / Re: Pubs in Glasgow

The best pub iIfind for watcjing games in Glasgow is Waxy O'Connors just of Buchannon Street.They have a Big screen and for double headers they usually provide platters of  sandwiches/sausage rolls between the games
