Penalties are great. No more or less cruel a finish than the end of the Tipperary hurling final today.

Judging by some of the trillick players celebrations two weeks ago I think they underestimated the challenge that they faced tonight.

Fair play to dungannon can't beat a bit of hunger and a good wink to their neighbours after the "THIS IS WHAT WE DO" tweet out of edendork last night .... starting to remind me of cookstown  ::)

Trouble in Coalisland currently?

Is there a pub not enforcing social distancing measures?

Unreal finish in that game - needed the goal and got it.

Club stuff has been unreal this year.

Hats off to Dungannon, a fantastic achievement.

I said a couple of weeks back how the likes of Dungannon, Cookstown, Strabane were underachieving given their numbers but I certainly didn't see them winning this year. A really, really well drilled outfit.

Could this go to penalties or is there allowance for a replay if it finishes level?

If a draw it's penalties

Why not a replay?
Have you been living under a rock? Games go to penalties now, they have done for a good while.

Yes I have actually.

Could they not make an exception for the final? Other counties are.
No, that's not how it works.

Am I not allowed to live under a rock?

Oh you mean... So I'm assuming the club championship had to be finished by a certain date to suit the county team?

Maybe for entertainment but when loose in Ulster against the big boys, they are average.

You seem to be mistaking a club with a club championship. Would Cross, Scotstown, Ballinderry, Slaughtneil, Kilcoo etc have dominated the Tyrone club championship like they have their own in recent years?

They would in their hoop.

No one is asking them to dominate, The Tyrone teams just need to work out how to do well in Ulster

The history of their involvement in Ulster is poor, which doesn't make good reading, whatever way you try and spin it

Yeah it doesn't look good in that respect when it comes to Tyrone clubs in Ulster, but I think it definitely has helped the likes of Crossmaglen, Scotstown, Slaughtneil, Kilcoo, St Galls, over the years that they have been able to dominate their counties.  They knew more then what the ulster club championship was about as they were in it for a number of years in a row.  There is no doubt that helps massively.  Tyrone is the ultimate competitive club championship.  Dungannon won it and I think they were 33/1 so rank outsiders before a ball was kicked.  No way you would get that in the likes of Antrim, Monaghan, Derry, Down or Armagh championships.  Even Fermanagh champions for this last few years Derrygonnelly were very unlucky not to get to an Ulster final last year after a decent run in the Ulster championship.  Their few years of being there in a row helped massively.

The main problem for tyrone teams  are that they have to be at their peak to progress out of Tyrone , each year. There are no 'easy' games. Other clubs dominate their SFC  and build up experience in Ulster.Tyrone clubs dont have that advantage !
