GAA Discussion / Jimmy winning matches (maybe?)
August 25, 2013, 09:47:05 PM
What's the story with Jim McGuinness?
Was on BBC today saying he will only take Donegal job again if the county board do certain things.
Any idea what it is he is looking?

Is there starred games in Donegal? Or what is he after?

the future looks very bright for Tyrone. So who are the players that could break into the senior panel?
I think the panel will stay much the same next season. With a much stronger Brian McGuigan and Stephen ONeill
to bolster things.
I also think that some of the boys from the 04 minor panel might begin to break through - players like Mulgrew.
It will be about two or three years before we see the crop of todays minor team - Coney, Girvan, McKenna, McNabb, McNeice etc
I actually think that this minor team is as good as any we have ever had. The good thing is that Tyrone can afford to give these guys time to develop into senior players, this is a luxury that many other teams cant afford with young players.

the future is bright, the future is red and white.

GAA Discussion / can Tyrone become the new Kerry
September 22, 2008, 05:51:30 PM
Can Tyrone go on now to become the dominant team in Gaelic Football for the next few years?
I think that everything is in place. The team is still quite young, there is great underage players
coming through (as highlighted by the minor game). They are dominant at Schools level be it in
vocational schools or Colleges. They have won five ulster minor titles in the last eight years.
They have a great manager and excellent county board who run the county properly.
I think that Sam could well be back in Tyrone a few more times in the next few years.

Armagh / Crossmaglen Rangers
November 25, 2007, 06:08:48 PM
They are some club. What is the secret to their success?
Some reckon they are probably the richest club in Ireland due to the money they got from the Brits.
A guy told me today that they have played in 23 finals either at Armagh, Ulster or All Ireland level and have never lost anyone know if that is true?

anyway they are a great club and a real credit to the GAA.

GAA Discussion / players linked to AFL
August 14, 2007, 12:46:12 PM
I know there has been a post on pros and cons of players going to AFL. Does anyone know which players exactly have been linked.
I have heard a very strong rumour from oz that Kevin Dyas of Armagh has signed a deal with Brisbane lions and that Collingwood are also very interested in him. I have not saw anything about this at home. Anyone know anything about this?

GAA Discussion / New GAA Radio Phone in
May 19, 2007, 08:10:22 PM
New Radio Phone in on Radio Ulster. Starting this Sunday An Domhnach Mór is the GAA fan's platform for post-match debate and analysis every Sunday evening. Its on from 6:15 to 7pm

I think this is a really good idea. Have been driving home from the games for years with mates and have said how little
after match analysis there is on radio. Rte did have a phone in show but changed it to a Monday evening. Most programmes are off air by the time you get back to car. Thus it is very hard to hear interviews reactions etc.
This could be a big hit on the way home from games at Croker. Shame they couldnt get a big name GAA personality to spearhead it.

GAA Discussion / Great GAA Families
November 19, 2006, 08:35:33 PM
Was watching some Ulster club football today and was thinking that most successful clubs are usually built around one or two families.
Errigal - The Canavans
Ballinderry - McGuckins
Lavey - McGurks/ Downeys
can any one think of any others??
