With Rasmus Hojlund ruled out today I see the Manchester Evening news stated it's now 35 cases of injury or illness this season that have caused a player to miss a game.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Onthe40

Yes their missing players but they still have plenty of supposed quality 1st team players on the field to win games like this

Onana
Dalot
Varanne
Wam bissaka
Fernandez
Granacho
Rashford
Errikson

are all 1st 11 players

So not buying the bs

Half of those players probably aren't 1st 11 with everyone available.

With a lot out it's much harder to find any consistency when chopping and changing the starting team and the bench is made weaker. McTominay the most experienced player brought off the bench today for teenager and the two goals conceded was probably on him for his lack of defensive awareness.

Players are out of position out of form and bad formations or inconsistent formations.

How poor was last years PL if this rabble made top four handily?

Only 2 games in jan might  prolong him.

8/1 Wigan A
14/1 Tottenham H
1/2 Wolves A

Could be gone  if Tottenham beat them. I'm going for  a day after the  Wolves game , which they'll no doubt lose

Will be sacked the day top 4 is mathematically impossible as it'll be the cheaper payoff, more white water rafting for a few months yet

Changing the manager again would be pointless.
Man Utd has a much bigger problem.

Onano is woeful, AFCON can't come quick enough. Garnacho is a great lad but he's a kid, should be coming off the bench not being the main man. Rashford should be long gone. Eriksen is a class player but the legs have gone.

De Gea was in goals. There was the bounce of a new Manager. United were in the less squad taxing Europa League. Part of how well Liverpool are doing this season in the Premier League has to do with them being in the Europa League.

Onana has been poor but let's not pretend De Gea was any better. He had his fair share of stinkers last season too. I think the fact he's still without a club is telling.

Correct. The most successful and United teams had leaders all over the pitch - this team has none. If Bruno is the best you have to select as captain you are in big trouble.

They have the least number of drawn matches in the EPL (W10 D1 L9) so does that suggest they can't grind out a result when behind, something they've been famous for in the past.

I think Spurs are one of those teams that could make Utd look really good. Bit like Villa the other night. Utd have plenty of speed in the team and quick on the counter so good at exploiting teams that play high and prone to sloppy defensive passing. But against a well organised team that sit deep and do nothing stupid, they look short on ideas and some of their "big players" get frustrated and disinterested fairly quickly when it's not open and going their way.

As it stands, they'll drop plenty more points this season but will also pick up some great wins too, which will have people salivating and saying they've turned a corner. So ETH may be around for a bit longer. And of course the Jan transfer window could well end up pulling a rabbit out of a hat. It's a difficult situation for the board. They have to be seen to be trying but can't keep talking about major clear outs, move players on, blow stupid money an replacements, then call for more clear outs 12 months on. So I'd be very very very wary of ETH if I were them, if he cannot get some sort of consistent tune out of that squad, the last thing he should be let near is a monster transfer kitty.

Look-Up!

They had plenty of pissheads too when AF took over. The manager cultivated a leader culture. Sure he was lucky with some of his personnel but he had his hands full too keeping all on the straight and narrow. A big gang of lads need direction and under weak stewardship things can go toxic fairly quick even with the best of them. I really don't get how some Utd fans are so quick to give ETH the benefit of the doubt over and over again. Good players will respond to good leadership. He's not good enough. They need to identify a replacement and go all out for him. If there's no one atm fair enough, but maybe avoid the transfer window till summer.

No the reason why Liverpool are doing so well and United are not is that United repeatedly spend obscene amounts of money on absolute guff. Klopp and Liverpool are alot more astute in the transfer market than ETH.
