With Liam Cahill staying at Waterford I see Tipp have moved for Colm Bonnar..
I wonder if that a "holding" appointment till Cahill sees out his time with Waterford.
Davy for Galway seems like madness for Galway and no word on Wexford as yet.
Cody, is he going to stay or call it a day?
Davy Fitz is the José Mourinho of hurling

Darragh Egan is taking on that job, they announced that last week.
Not sure on tipp's appointment at all. I actually think Davy could, though short term, put a bit of life into a team that needs it and should be doing so much better.
Not sure Galway would have the money for him

You're right, forgot about that. Those Tipp lads get about.
Waterford, Antrim and now Wexford and probably a few others coaching in the lower tiers.

Where's Dinny Cahill these days? I was down Galway many years ago watching a Intermediate final (we were playing winners) he was looking after/coaching there, he's a cracking coach
Tipp have a big rebuilding job ahead
Kilkenny confirm that Brian Cody will remain as senior hurling manager in 2022, his 24th season in charge
Surely it was time for Cody to step down?
Why? Surely Kilkenny have over-achieved this past few years? Two Leinster titles in a row, and an all-Ireland appearance in 2019?
Tyrone made the All Ireland final in 2018 but was the right decision to bring in a new management this year. Kilkenny are a good bit off Limerick so what's the motives?
Kilkenny were helped by Dublin missing 4 or 5 through in this year's Leinster final

Cody has earned the right to go on his own time of choosing but I don't believe he hasn't adapted well to the new way hurling is being played and the win your own ball mantra for the forwards isn't working for Kilkenny for two reasons.
They don't have the same standard of players at their disposal to be able to do that and the top teams just won't allow one on ones to develop in those areas.
Shefflin the new Galway manager apparently..

Seen that on RTE. Cody keeping him out of the KK job. Told to go out on Loan?
Could be a smart move by Galway.

It's the better option than Davy Fitz even if Shefflin managing at this level is an unknown entity.
Fitz's man management style went out years ago.
A loss for the cats. Wasn't Shefflin favourite to take over from Cody eventually ?
You would expect more steel and less cricket hurling from Galway next year
2022 odds
Chasing pack starts at 9/1

He probably still will at some stage. No harm cutting his teeth at inter county level with Galway.

Good appointment for Dublin, pressure on him to deliver as they are very inconsistent, capable of big results one day, only to get caught on the hop the next one.

I think they are in a period of transition, finding it hard to get the blend right. Kilkenny hammered them this year.

Yeah, but they beat Wexford in Wexford who went on to beat Kilkenny in Kilkenny only proves my point even more..
Their scoring rates let them down. The ledger for the 3 matches vs KK and Wexford was very negative. Wexford only lost by a point or so vs KK. Dublin lost by 19 or so

Won the All Ireland for Galway but it was Waterford instead Kilkenny, Limerick they played in the final and the ground work for that Galway team was done by Anthony Cunningham

AC couldn't win the all Ireland despite 2 attempts. Donoghue added the necessary elements to his team eg Daithi Burke and got over the line.
A lot of mileage will be clocked up on the M6 by Donoghue and his team.

Sorting out No3 and No6 was definitely key to Galway getting over the line.

Hanbury was left out to dry by being left one on one with Callanan in the semi-final, Galway scraped past. Kilkenny didn't make the same mistake but Hanbury had a better final than semi-final if the truth was told.
Tannian at centre back had a poor second half as well didn't help.

With a bit of luck/more cuteness either the 12 or 15 team could have broken the hoodoo. It took an exceptional team to win in 2017 and that was the end of the cycle because Limerick appeared next. I think the next decent Galway team will win more. On the shoulders of giants etc.
Johnny Kelly in the Offaly job.
Is that everyone sorted?
Joe Fortune stays on in Westmeath. I'd say he will be in contention for the Wexford job next time.
Darragh Egan gone from Wexford.
Would the yella bellies poach fellow Tipp man Darren Gleeson from Antrim?

Not surprising after the year Wexford had on the verge of relegation.
A bit like Everton. There may be a repeat.
Gleeson is going well in Antrim and may not fancy the Wexford rebuild.
