Seeing as the year is over for most club activities, apart from a few under 21 competitions, provincial championship finals in Leinster and the ladies all Ireland club I'm wondering what your highlight was.
Needless to say mine was beating Kerry. It was a long time coming and it made up for 2014. Unfortunately it was the semi final and not the final. Someday maybe.
The last 5 minutes of the hurling final
The return of scaoil amach an bobailín
Joe Canning sideline cut over the bar in the AIF. Magnificent.
The footballers win a match in Croke Park
Wexford beating Kilkenny
Some of the tributes to Tony Keady as Gaeilge
Carlow
For me it was at the ladies final and there were loads of Tyrone fans sitting around us in the premium level so I try to get them to sing.
"CCCCCCCCOoooooooooome on Tyyyyyyyyyrone
CCCCCCCCOoooooooooome on Tyyyyyyyyyrone
CCCCCCCCOoooooooooome on Tyyyyyyyyyrone TYYYYYRONE !!!"
Not a word from anyone else.
So I tried again
"CCCCCCCCOoooooooooome on Tyyyyyyyyyrone
CCCCCCCCOoooooooooome on Tyyyyyyyyyrone
DONT LET ME SING ON MY OWN"
And it got a big cheer!
Lowest point was being 15 mins late waiting on my son to come from a birthday party to bring him in to the Tyrone v Dublin game which we were all looking forward to ALL YEAR and when we got to our seats the game was over. I couldn't even have a pint.
Probably it was watching young Mulgrew's goals against Armagh and thinking do we have the forwards after all.
Connacht Final.
First 12 minutes v Rhubarbs in Croke Park drawn game.
Galway winning the hurling. Delighted for JC.
Has to be andy morans performance in kiltoom .
I wonder is that the 1st time an all start was secured by a performance in January.
Was a so so year for us but the win final game of the league away to armagh with last kick of the ball to win by one and get unlikeliest promotion was special. Also special mention to the game in cavan where we came from 6 down in brefini at ht to win. Shows the progression we are making I suppose that promotion and a championship win away against a good side is a bit of a meh year
Relegating Leix. ;D

Delighted for all Galway hurling fraternity and especially Micheál Donoghue who'd a whole pile of shite said about him after last years semi-final defeat.
The Feakle man should learn to shut his gub and stick to talking about the actual hurling rather than get personal!
Armagh wise - beating Kildare
Overall - probably galway
Bringing my 2 sons to Croke Park for the 1st time.
Con O'Callaghan

Cork beating Tipp in the 1st round in Munster Hurling Championship. Cork's stock had gone so low that winning that proved they could compete and not slipping further under the water as was feared.
Loftus' goal in castlebar when it looked like we were toast
Conor O'Donnell inspired St Endas winning the TSFC.
Roscommon winning the Connacht final
Roscommon U17s beating Kerry handily in Ennis
Glaveys winning the inter Connacht final
Good year.
Beating Monaghan at the Athletic Grounds in the Ulster semi final.
Bubbles goal v Cork
Gleesons point v Cork and then the goal v Cork in semi
Cannings winning point v Tipp in Semi
Lee Chins perfomance v KK.
Galway wining after 28 years.
And the football final.
Beating Kerry in the league 6 days after Spillane going on a huge anti-Mayo tirade.
Loftus' goal against Derry.
Locally: Niall Carew's resignation
Nationally: Galway winning Liam finally
Waterford beating Cork by 11 points in All Ireland semi final after being 2 points behind mid way through 2nd half. Barron and a wonder goal from Austin Gleeson in 2 magic minutes turned the game and we could enjoy last few minutes knowing it was won.
Mine was beating Westmeath. Armagh were up against it, but Westmeath just could not convert their chances. A nice road trip down, good weather and the win took us on a journey to Croke Park.

As the captaincy passed between players each year she had to wait 15 years to captain the team. Captain in '02 and now 2017. Ní bheidh a leithéid ann aris.
Seeing the reaction and the country suffer when Dublin lifted Sam again, made it all that sweeter.

'The Moore(of Carnacon) family won the Chester Cup in England in 1846, with a horse called Coranna. The horse was trained locally and the winnings went towards assisting the local community during the famine'
Other than Armagh beating Tipp and Kildare, I'm struggling to remember any sort of highlight in 2017.
My GAA highlight of 2017 is the emergence of Con O'Callaghan as the most promising dual star since Jimmy Barry Murphy.

I have actually owned/run by the Stasi right? Similar to how Mayo GAA are run it looks like with their not releasing players to clubs in April, Mayo are more elite and professional than any other team in the country.

Oh wait, I've remembered a highlight - Dublin hammering the fcuk out of Tyrone ;D

Even suggesting O'Callaghan is a more promising dual player than the countless players who have actually played senior county in both codes is madness. It comes from the same realm of thinking that David Clifford is unmarklable at senior because he scored a few goals at minor. Chill out.

O'Callaghan will never be a dual player at intercounty level. He has more sense than that I feel. He didn't play for Cuala u21 footballers in their championship semi last week (lost to Na Fianna by 1 point), and chose not to play for UCD in 2017, so he seems to understand the importance of minding himself.
However, it is clear to me that he is one of the best forwards in hurling. He doesn't need to play on the Dublin team to prove that.

He may very well be but you can't actually prove it against the likes of Kilcormac Killoughey. Half their defenders were carrying excess weight. Big jump up to intercounty from that level of opposition.
Probably moot anyway as he's unlikely to play senior intercounty hurling any time soon.
On a personal level hommering Meath is always a joy, but then the Armagh loss tainted an otherwise good year.
I think Canning and Galway winning it was the best moment and the point that saw him with the happy head picture was the moment.

What a weird attempt to discredit someone on a GAA forum of all places.
At many hurling matches this year or watched many ???
Andy Moran in so many was that don't need elaboration.
My clubmate Niall Murphy being selected for and representing Ireland.
Galway winning Liam and being there in Salthill the following evening.
And on a personal level, getting back involved with my club after a few years out. It provided several great moments and hopefully many more in the coming year or two.
The excitement after Ros bate Galway was one of the highlights of a poor football championship .
Monaghan county championship senior, semi final.
Ballybay 8 points ahead of Scotstown with 4 minutes of added-on time to play.
