US Grand Prix this weekend in Austin. F1 star Lewis Hamilton is considering taking the knee in respect to his NFL colleagues. President Trump ain't happy overall, it's one to discuss. .

It's a Trump tactic to deflect from his loony tunes administration.

When he's getting hit hard on something he posts about people disrespecting the flag and the anthem so that his 'people' will get back on his side because he's a patriot. Even though he's not particularly.

The NFL lads are highlighting the plight of young black men being racially profiled and shot by police throughout the country. It is commendable but surely with the vast sums of money they have they could be doing something more practical to help.

F1 doesn't have a big profile in the US, it's like the soccer of motor racing. Big everywhere except the US. I'd be surprised if Trump notices, but we'll see. Maybe it'll draw a bit of attention to F1!

when he goes to China ,Bahrain , Russia,,Azerbaijan ,Singapore,Mexico, abu dhabi to race does he protest there about human rights violations ,treatment of women etc etc ? No because he knows he wouldn't be entertained for 5 seconds  . If he kneels he don't race is how would like it to be

So he's not allowed to protest and if he does there should be consequences. Sounds a bit like fascism to me.

Any links to Hamilton saying this?

There's a link to him saying he's not going to do it http://m.bbc.com/sport/formula1/41688327

I don't agree with Gmac that if he kneels he doesn't race but it would be a bit hypocritical to kneel in the US but happily smile and wave in the other countries mentioned..

So this is based on nothing other than some reporter asking him?

This is a stupid thread.

The NFL lads don't give a fiddlers f**k about the average black man, what have they done other than take a knee in front of millions of people, they are liberal elite and have as much integrity as the Hollywood A listers who either harass women or rape them, or know whats going on but say nothing to protect their wallets! Ben Affleck is a prime example of the lefts hypocrisy.
Armagh, the one true love of a mans life.

Pure rubbish Stew. Loads of NFL players do tremendous work with their foundations, mainly in less well off communities (where a huge % of these players come from). That is a well known fact. Most of these players are not "liberal elite" as you call them. The comparison to Hollywood is laughable. You really have a warped take on things.
