Im trying to go off the sugar in the coffee folks. Its frigging tough. Im on about 4 cups a day, and Ive thought about using the sweetners, but they taste awful.
Any tips?
Couldn't you wait until Lent?
Thats a good idea horse.
3 please. 4 on special occassions
I knocked it on the head during Lent too when I was about 13. Just cut back and cut back til you get to nothing. How many sugars at the minute?
maybe two teaspoons in a pretty big mug.
Its an extra 48 calories per tablespoon of sugar!

Jeez I've never heard of a man counting calories! Give it up cos you don't need it.
I can't drink tea with sugar in it. Awful.

Sure you don't even pay for it :D
I find no pleasure in drinking either without sugar.
But sweetner does the job for me. You can get that low calorie sugar, it's kind of inbetween.

The last time I paid for it, you threw it round me!! :D
we grew up with our parents putting sugar in our teas (never liked coffee) and sugar in our cereal. we never had a choice.
weened off taking sugar about 20 years ago. wouldn't have sugar in anything.
Jees! has it come to this?... I don't take sugar in my tea/coffee... goodnight :-[ zzzzz
went off it for lent years ago , could never go back ,
first three or four cups were tough then you got used to it,
couldtn even drink a cup if my mother stirred it with the same spoon as her sugary tea , even a trace of sugar repels me .
just man up for the first few cups and you will be sound ! ;)
Im a 3/4 spoonful of sugar kinda girl.
Would never even try to give it up. Good luck puck.
I used to put 1 spoon of sugar in the tea but one day (for reasons I can't remember) I just stopped - cold turkey. I remember it took a few weeks to get used to but now if i even got a 1/4 of a spoon of sugar in my tea I wouldn't be able to drink it.
Just give up tea, its like fcuk all anyway :P
used to take 3 spoons of sugar in tea. i always felt that this obviously means i dont like tea, so now i dont bother.
No sugar for me personally . Still hear the saying when asked if they want sugar.... "No thanks I'm sweet enough". For some reason it just bugs me.
Never drink tea or coffee i find them both rotten
used to take sugar in my tea, now i couldn't have it!!
Detest the taste/smell of Coffee,
i like the odd cup of tea and like St pauls, i used to take sugar, went off it for lent years ago and never looked back, couldnt take it with sugar in it

heard that stuffs carcenogenic - so wouldnt go near it again
used to take loads of sugar in tea as a kid.
coffee was only on the yank tv programmes !
Went off sugar in tea when was about 13 for lent, couldn't wait to go back on it - tea ia rank without it. I was taking 2 tea spoons until a few years ago I decided I didn't need that much and usually fire half a sachet in now just. Only really started back on the tea in work. The sweetners do the same job for me too. It could be worse, you could be like Tony Baloney who needs a scone with every cup he drinks.
Tea is the business. Strong as a horse, no sugar and the tiniest bit of milk. Gets me through to the next cup. Never drank coffee.
I cant drink tea with sugar in it, it actually makes me boke. Tea should be strong as tar with a wee splash of milk.
I cant drink coffee without sugar though. Need a good spoonful in there, but the seetener does me too...canderal or some of those things.

Damn rite-as the auld fella would say-A good Mullahoran cup a tae.
Coffee has to be sweet-Love the stuff. I hav cut down from 3 spoons-on 2.5 at the mo. Its a slow process.
Successfully down to half a packet of sweetner in the coffee. Dont even notice the disgusting fake taste anymore.
We are progressin nicely.
Just started yesterday taking no sugar in the tea and coffee. Not too bad. Harder with the tea than the coffee, funnily enough. Might start taking the tea a little weaker for a while to make it easier.
Salt next.
I have no idea where the pleasure is in drinking tea or coffee, with or without sugar.
I agree pints - never drink either - rotten.
Never drink tea/coffee myself...Water's your only job..About 5/6 pints a day.
sitting with a pint of diluted blackcurrant and apple now...

You put salt in tea and coffee?
Yep nice and refreshing and not worrying about having to throw sweetening dung into it.

And its lovely and cold at the minute!
Giving up the sugar is easy, sure it's rank for the first few weeks but tough it out & you'll never go back. Salt is tougher but same idea give it a while & never again
Can't stomach tea myself. Only started drinking coffee to be sociable, wouldn't worry me if I never had a cup of it either. Black, no sugar.
can not have sugar in my tea but i need it in my coffee
this stuff is supposed to be the best substitute:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xylitol
anyone watchin "the last resort"? theres a man on it says he drinks around 25cups o tay a day, 2 sugars in each......50 sugars a day!!!
he hasnt ate veg for 20 yrs either.....and his problem.....IBS/chronic constipation..........
Darwin awards candidate when he cocks up his toes. Which won't be long now.
