Quote from: square_ball on January 23, 2024, 09:52:15 PMFrom Niall Gartland on Twitter/X:

QuoteJP McManus donation: Tyrone GAA have worked out they have in effect 108 'clubs' affiliated to the three governing associations (the GAA, LGFA and Camogie). So in real terms a Tyrone club affiliated with one association receives just over £9k euro, a club with two, twice that etc.

What would the breakdown of that be?
47 Football clubs, 10 Hurling clubs, 8 Camogie clubs and 43 Ladies football?

So Carrickmore for example are entitled to 4 x 9k = 36k?

out of interest whats the make up of the 10 hurling clubs in the county?

4? Do Carmen have a camogie team?

The hurling and camogie clubs in Carrickmore come under the one club as in Eire Og's Carrickmore which is separate from N. Colmcille. So N Colmcille get £18,000, Eire Og's £18,000 and do the handball clubs in the county get £9k as well?

What episode is this? I think the lads managing yesterday had made it very clear they were there for a short period due to time constraints. It's a lot more attractive at this stage for a young manager than it was 10 weeks ago

Very very surprised at this one. His brother in law is from Beragh unless this swayed it

May have pulled the trigger on this too quick. Had heard it Saturday morning. Then saw Niall Gartland tweet so assumed safe to share but now tweet gone so not sure what's goin on.  :(

I think Gormey may be waiting to see what Carmens current management decide as he is bound to be in with a shout if they leave after the league is finished

Holmes will get plenty of offers. Those two men have done a decent job with the Clarkes. It is probably time the players had a change of voice though.

They have a chance indeed but only if they can keep Oguz quiet. He is Errigals main man to make them function. I also think Ardboe will need a goal or two to win it

Who would be the candidates for the job?

Fair play to the Lough but in the general context of things how can you rule any team out of being championship contenders on one performance. Carrickmore were missing 4-5 starters last night. The line panicked bring a clearly unfit Johnny on at ht and I'd didn't work at all

News from the hill:
Dooher and Logan another 3 year term with the Seniors.
Paul Devlin another 3 year term with the U20s.
Gerry Donnelly another 3 year term with the U17s.

Did Gerry Donnelly not resign at the end of last year? Are we that stuck for coaches he must have been asked to stay on.  :-[

As was said before Gerry didnt resign. He was misquoted in an interview when he was asked if he was staying on. Gerry being the diplomat said his time as up meaning his contract. The interviewer took it as he had left. No one on the county board ever thought he was gone, nor did he want the u20 job.

Is Gerry Donnelly staying with the u17s ?

Gerard Donnelly stepped down from the U17 post. A pity as him and Hetherington are talented coaches
I wonder did they have one eye on the U20 job when they stepped down though?

This is actually incorrect. Gerry said his term was up to the press and they reported it wrong. He has sought and years and will get it

I actually would have Dromore and Carrickmore ahead of Trillick, Dungannon or Loughmacrory.
Carmen won the league 2 years ago and pushed a good Errigal team to the pin of it in last years final.
Errigal at full strength are a wee bit better than all but can be caught.

Anyone who thought they game was reffed well must be a ref himself. I thought he was utterly pathetic . Look how handy the Canavan's got free compared to Marty P.
Fair play to Errigal though. Worthy champions and will give Glen their fill of it

Hard to legislate for yesterdays conditions.Suited Coalisland better think Dominic could be available he was the last man to deliver the goods for Carmen.

It's not really, it is October and the chances of Wind and Rain is high. Suited Coalisland better as we set back and let them have the ball when we were playing with the wind.

Roger Keenan was the last man in 2005.

Did dom not do back to back with Carmen in 04,05 keenan might of been beat in final in 06.

Corrigan was in charge for 04 before going to take Sligo Seniors in 2005.
Keenan took charge in 2005 before taking up High Performance Manager role with SINI which stopped him from taking management role for the following season.
Chris Brown in charge in 2006.

Carmen enjoyed a Manager Merry-go-round in them days

Won an Ulster title with them too in 06, unprecedented times

Brown won a competitive Ulster league that year but got the road after losing a couple of league games. Corrigan was at the helm for most of the year in 06. I cant remember if Gavin was with him them days or not but he was certainly involved with some of them teams as well.

It is a great place for a league game or a ladies game like last week when 2000 might be the size of your crowd. I would fear for children trying to see the game to be honest but fair play to them. Its a great facility.
As well as this I see our girls are actually playing in Ulster in Cavan at the same time. There would be a few parents with children playing on both teams so surly this could be changed to facilitate promotion of our games.
