Feck me Utd fans are easily pleased. One win tonight and everything seems OK and ETH has to stay next season. Every other team will hope he stays! They have been absolutely terrible.
Just have to hope they don't get hammered by City in the final.

Take it for what it is, an end of season open game that United came out on the right side of for once.

I've said it before on here, I think they need a season out of Europe completely, but one sure thing is, that they don't need to be competing in the conference league.

If by some miracle they happen to win the cup they at least they would get into the Europa which probably would help with PSR and player transfers. But that Thursday Sunday schedule is a joke over the season.

I don't think Southgate is  any big shakes , but he'd be better than ETH. You might see somewhat  safety first style football,  but he has better  knowledge of the PL than ETH did (as that clearly shows ), and I reckon he'd  steady the ship  and tighten things up at least.

I'm not  clued into the European leagues so I don't know  who else  would be a  good fit at united ( other than Ancelotti, perhaps),  but as we've seen, continental managers  to the PL are much riskier as  the game in Spain/Italy is  different. So in that respect, Southgate would  probably be the best of a mediocre bunch of  british-style managers ,   at this stage

Is that true? 14 of the 20 PL managers are foreign, 13 of them European.

What less risky English appointments have there been? Potter?
