And just out of curiosity, when was last time Castlederg and Clonoe faced each other in a competitive match in mens/boys football? It's not a pairing you often see.

Minor League Quarter Final 1989 in Beragh....Due too a small disagreement both teams never got a chance to show their skills in the next round!!!!

Was that the year won the minor championship or was that disagreement the following year?

Only had one disagreement with the Derg may have been championship but i thought it was league....

Derg won G1 minor championship in 1989. Had a good team obviously, a few Cattersons, Benny Lynch, Aidan Lynch, lad Connolly......how come they never pushed on?

Thinking back was it 88 they won the championship with the Cattersons to the fore, may have been Dungannon (Barr & Kilpatrick) in 89 with Moortown (Lawns, Hagen and Cokey Quinn) in 90.

Was Aidan Lynch playing minor in 88/89?.Must have been about 10 then.

Dungannon won the minor championship in 89 beat Carmen in final and went on to win Ulster.

In the short term they'll be just as good as Newtown are now - they won't be getting any Dregish players that'll improve the team.

Long term it'll give them a wider catchment area as both Clubs are struggling with low numbers at youth level.

Don't expect them to light the world on fire - Good Junior team/Intermediate strugglers for the foreseeable.

Sorry, I was wrong. It was indeed 1988. Think Derg beat Carmen in the final.
Clarke's won 1989, Moortown 1990

Knock yourselves out...

I think there was a couple of Errigal wins round the start of the decade but cannot remember the years.
Maybe Donaghmore 93 or 94!

Any clubs have their managerial/coaching posts confirmed for next year yet?
