Quote from: quit yo jibbajabba on May 18, 2024, 05:02:10 PMTwas always gonna happen that happen that Derry got a few injuries, but that's quite the burst...
Quote from: Wildweasel74 on May 18, 2024, 05:05:23 PMAll inured at training  not games, heavy training for that. We were in a better position after the league final
And no injuries to the Glen players which was what all the early season fuss was about. Just bad luck.

The break between the Donegal game and today was very much needed for those players.

Quote from: SHEEDY on May 18, 2024, 05:18:17 PMWhat's going on with Offaly? 2 really poor results for them

Bit of mystery alright. A number of their 2021 All Ireland U20 winners on that Offaly senior team now and they have the same manager Declan Kelly.

Roscommon 3-5 to 0-7 winners against Galway in Tuam in the Connacht minor semi final tonight.  Roscommon v Mayo Connacht final next Friday in Hyde Park home and away arrangement as with senior level but different to U20 whereby neutral venue was chosen for the final.

Also tonight Sligo beat Leitrim 1-9 to 0-11 in the Shield final.

Quote from: snoopdog on May 16, 2024, 07:40:35 AMSpurs had a great season and they're only 6 pts, 2 wins better than a bad United side. If United by some miracle  win the Cup, Ten Hag has had a better season than the Farewell Flopp. The main issue with that team is being constantly over run in the middle. 1 correct purchase could be worth an extra 10 points next season, but it's not too often utd get it right in the transfer market this last 10 years or so.
Another big issue has been injuries. Near 70  separate cases of injuries this season with 14th different centre-back combinations and no natural left back for the majority of the season.  If Ten Hag is kept on for another season the injury riddled season will be taken into account and it's known with a lot less injuries last season finished 3rd and won the league cup.

Also worth noting in Arteta's first three seasons with Arsenal they finished 8th,8th and 5th. Regardless of manager it should be a busy summer with ins and out and United do and some good young players to build a team around now and it will be interesting to see how many of the U18s make the step up in the years ahead after their treble haul of trophies won this season.

Quote from: GoldCoastRossie on May 14, 2024, 05:26:02 PMI'm happy to put on a small bet the game will not throw at 5pm !

You'll lose that bet as HQ are not known for changing set throw in times for other sports.

Quote from: Gael85 on May 13, 2024, 08:26:54 PMClean sweep for kerry in Munster football this year.

Bit of bizarre format they have at Minor level in Munster.  An off night for Cork seeing that they only lost by 2 points against Kerry in the Quarter final a few weeks ago?

This weekend, HQ has to rush these competitions off as quickly as possible.

Quote from: Rossfan on May 12, 2024, 09:40:48 AMIt was indeed stupid. No need for it.

As for the match itself we were well beaten by a superb team.
Size, pace, S&C all miles ahead of us.
We had a great rally after half time but messed up a few chances to equalise or get ahead.
Outscored 1-8 to 0-2 after.
Shocking small attendance 1,521 (80% at least Ros) for an All Ireland semi final, no sense of occasion about the whole thing, no promotion of any kind leading up to it etc.
Would having 2 week breaks between Provincial Finals, AI semis and Final cause the sky to fall?
Could still be done and dusted by end of May.

No the sky wouldn't have fallen in if HQ scheduled things in that way but they don't really care about that or promoting the competition as they want U19 grade.

Best team certainly won but really silly that the Tyrone lad lost the head late on to got himself sent off and will miss the final now. The last 15/20 minutes Roscommon was out on their feet a direct result of the 7 day turnaround and how much energy they used to get back into the game.

Was passing through Pearse Stadium last Monday and popped in for a look.  Clean up from the previous day 20k crowd was going on and The stadium was filled with plastic bottles. I said to one chap they'll be good money made out of all those bottles once recycled?  no money made they'll be fcuked into the skip was the answer I got.

Quote from: snoopdog on May 08, 2024, 07:53:55 AMIf by some miracle Utd beat Arsenal. Then Arsenal just aren't good enough.

Absolutely and the other poster above can "look up" on the difference between reality/factual information v poor mouthing.

The scheduling of the U20 All Ireland series all appears to be too rushed.  Roscommon at the biggest disadvantage with just 6/7 days between the Connacht final and All Ireland semi final.  Biggest match at lot of these 18 to 20 year olds will likely play in their careers and all teams should be given two weeks to prepare for All Ireland semi final and also another two weeks to prepare for the All Ireland final.

Quote from: Look-Up! on May 07, 2024, 07:19:18 AMTypical Utd. Will more than likely come out like men possessed against the gunners at the weekend.

I just cant see that backline and midfield matching up to Arsenal at the minute.

On the race for 4th.  Villa have 2 games left and I dont think that they win either of them (Liverpool H, Palace A). The hope is that Spurs go full on spursy.
With Fernandes, Scooby Doo and Rashford back, at home after that humiliation coupled with Arsenal being on edge anyway, I see drama and a real struggle and it would be just typical of Utd to play out of their skins and hand City the league.

I think Villa are safe. Spurs need 7 points and to correct a huge GD. Gunners would certainly love to see their north London rivals make a cut of it to get to CL. Means having to beat City.

"Scooby Doo" looks like somebody is a fan of that buck that makes money off United on youtube.

If Arsenal don't beat a United side by a bit to spare on Sunday with makeshift defence with loads of players starting whom have checked out because they know they won't be at the club next season then it will pretty much highlight why Its over 20 years since Arsenal won the league title.

Well done to Galway first time they have won three in a row Connacht titles  since the mid 80s! Some way to win a final and the scenes at the end showed how much it still means to players, management and supporters to win a provincial title.

Leaving him one on one will have to change sooner than latter for Mayo.
