For new pitches the GAA Guidance seems to be for the allowance of 5m run-off zone around a playing field.
However, i cannot seem to find guidance on the requirement for existing pitches or whether there is a minimum that must be achieved at existing pitches.
the context is that we will be doing some work (new boundary fence and spectator stand) adjacent an exiting pitch and i am wondering if the 5m restriction would apply due to the new work or whether the old and established fence line could be retained?
if the 5m rule were required it would result in either reducing the size of the pitch or reducing the space for the spectator stand.
any direction towards written guidance would be appreciated - need to make sure we are covered.
thanks

just saw this in the paper

"Their training includes a physical fitness test. Each must complete 3,200 metres(eight laps of the track) in less than 14 minutes. He must also cover a 45-metre dash in less than seven minutes and a 200-metre dash in under 32 minutes. These are conducted annually at four or five different venues and reaching the targets is mandatory."

jayaus with targets like that il never become a referee!

so will galway bate mayo?

tough one to call. it depends on mayos injuries and their temprement on the day more then anything else. memories of the last time in salthill getting sunburnt and beaten. a bad day! red face for a week at work in the city. embarressment or sunburn? you decide!

tis time for revenge me thinks. but i think it could be a draw with mayo to win the replay in castlebar.
