There used to be a tradition that everytime you went past a chapel or church you blessed yourself. Does anyone still do it?

Getting a lift back from a match one time, blessed myself passing a church,  and one of the lads rounded on me that it was a Protestant church.  Sure what about it, isn't it the same gaffer, was my response. 
Forgot to include hearses, funeral homes but only while there is a funeral on, and I picked up the ambulance habit somewhere along the line.

Years ago I was in a car with my uncle who had spent about 50 years on the sites in England, his wife who was English and my granny

Anyways, as we were passing a church someone pulled right out in front of him to which he responded with a litany of fvcks and cvnts and other choice words

My granny turned to his wife and said-did you ever in your life hear anyone swearing like that in front of a church. He's an absolute disgrace.

No, I don't even attend mass anymore. It's not that I have a problem with the Catholic church it is just that I don't like a lot of the virtue signalers you see at church. I remember when I was a teen some of the people who bullied me at school went to mass which made the whole thing seem farcical to me.
