England don't have a midfield to win out a tournament against the best teams in Europe. By winning out, I mean, consistently dominate the best teams, game after game, over a 3/4 game stretch.

But they do have exciting attacking talent, and multiple match winners, who can conjure goals out of nothing. They got an easy group, got the draw from heaven, played nobody to reach the final. Rodri going off at HT in the final etc. So it did look like the stars were aligning for them, and very easily could have won that game despite the possession stats. Wouldn't blame anyone thinking they were destined to win it.

Kane was pants the whole tournament, but had to start and with Spain having so much possession England were going to be reliant on the counter attack.

Bellingham is overrated also imo, always throwing himself on the floor also.

Bellingham looks a cert to be his generation's Dele Alli. He's quick, he's strong, he has a hell of a first touch. But he's more interested in being noticed than being a footballer. And that's despite what should have been a brilliant grounding in Dortmund.

Mainoo a belter of a player. Had a bit too much to do there but looks a very smart footballer.

Bellingham obviously has quality but tries to be Roy of the rovers. If they disciplined him to play a certain role he'd be better. Bit too much of a maverick and doesn't have the right players round him to do that.
