No doubt this document will be an example of Chat GPT at its finest.
Nearly 6000 social houses in 3 years  ;D  Why do they put such rubbish on paper?!

There's 3-4000 being built in 9ne part of Derry alone at out the Buncrana, a fairly hefty % will be social housing.
There's another big development near Gransha which was originally 70% private and 30% social.. After a reck of private houses were sold they flipped it and now 70% are social. Lousy on the private buyers as a few 'interesting' families have already been relocated there out of other social housing estates

Drove by them a few times, the best of houses.

Why work when you can get a free house, it is a vicious cycle in that their offspring will grow up in a culture when there is a sense of entitlement all their lives.  These people will catch every illness under the sun except the ability to work.

Forgive my ignorance but there are a lot of people in social housing paying rent as well as those on UC.

Think it's about a 70/30 split normally. Social housing rents are paid in full on Universal Credit, whereby private sector is capped and you may have to contribute to the rent.

Heard a couple of weeks ago, after the Offaly game probably, when the shit hit the fan & there was talk about moving it back to give more of a home advantage.

100%. All I've heard today is about how Offaly were missing loads of players. Antrim don't get an awful lot of cause for optimism so its frustrating to see such negativity.

Not seeing too much negativity just calls for wait to we see how the competitive games go, it couldn't be any worse than last years debacle (that Paudie Shivers seems to have gained a promotion from).

Wexford beat the U-20s by 6 or 7 the previous week so again wouldn't be reading anything into it.

The deceased Quaham Babatunde was previously accused of rape in Italy, and ultimately deported from Italy.

Both those charged were out on bail on knife and drug/firearm charges.

Quote from: Laois Rising on February 17, 2025, 03:28:32 PMLet's be realistic as to where Westmeath are at presently- they have a smaller pool of players to Laois and don't have the same strength in depth. Davy Glennon and Niall O'Brien only came on as subs and a long way off being properly match fit. Jogger Doyle and Killian Doyle weren't playing either. Westmeath minus a few of their stalwarts should not be beating Laois and that proved the case.

Another game and another improvement in performance. League is going as expected for Laois and I do think they will step it up again for the challenge of Carlow. Regardless of the result against Carlow it looks most likely the Antrim v Laois game will be a straight relegation play-off match and unfortunately that is an away game for Laois. Davy Fitz is astute enough and will target (as he must) that game.

Perhaps come the last game and if Dublin already promoted we might still have a shot with staying up but I wouldn't be banking on that game. Need to win our next two games and then let the game against Dublin be a hit to nothing.

The Antrim game is in Ballycastle which won't have the same home advantage that Corrigan brings, good big pitch though always at the mercy of the elements.

Quote from: redsetanta on February 17, 2025, 09:47:51 AMGood win alright and badly needed.

Tommy was a good man for a goal during his playing days and it's good to see the lads rattling the net 4 times. We have struggled in the past to score goals.

How good/bad were Westmeath though?

Carlow game next week will be a cracker as there hasn't been much in our games with them the last few years. They probably feel they are due a win over us.

Westmeath were absolutely brutal against Antrim in Corrigan, usually they are big, physical & "abrasive" but they were none of that. I put it down to it being their first game but maybe not the case if they were poor against you.
