WTF! Do you seriously believe it's ok to refer to people with mental health issues as fruit and nut cases? That woman clearly has problems and could easily have died the other day. Do you also think it'd be ok to refer to someone with cancer using the similar derogatory language?

Yes I do. What is wrong with the description?

Other common terms in my personal repetoire are as follows:

Bollix - awkward person
Tart - bird that dates everyone except me
Cunto - friendly awkward person
Woolly woofter - uphill gardener
etc etc

Cover me in chocolate and feed me to the lesbians

You've obviously never had any issues regarding "fruit and nut cases" call to your door and for your sake I hope you never have.

Apparently the woman had had a 'phantom' pregnancy. A right fruit and nut case by all accounts.
Not a very Christian attitude for someone so keen to defend the Church on another thread. I echo omagh_gael's comment - you wouldn't make similar remarks about someone with a physical illness.

omagh_gael

You obviously have very little knowledge or experience of what it is like to have a mental illness to demonstrate such ignorance and, as maguire mentioned, hypocrysy. I work in the field of mental health and learning disability and have witnessed the devastation psychiatric illnesses can have on an individual, as well as their loved ones, and feel that your views are extremely disrespecful and uncalled for. Rant over.

Thank God, have to feel for the woman though.

God gets an awful lot of credit.

Yourself and Himself seem to have an awful lot in common.
