I watched naked election the other, was very impressed with him, very articulate speaker, definitly a man of the people, has alot of compassion for the people, but negatives are his pot smoking, at the end of the day its widely  known long term use can lead to mental problems, surely he can get by without it, and the championes chant was a but cringeful but 99% positive and no ones perfect, and hes way ahead of alot of candidates going into the dail on a free ride.

Regarding his use of cannibis, you could say the same about alcohol (mental health)and surely every TD (who drinks) in the dail could get by without it also.

The key to success is to be consistently competitive -- if you bang on the door often it will open

When you think you're fucked you're only about 40% fucked.

A fine maiden speech by Ming today. He also dealt admirably with the sniggering that was going on as he spoke. He stopped and asked them to show some respect to the people of Roscommon/South Leitrim. Shut them up.
I assume the sniggering was when he mentioned that he had lived in Holland.  :P

Puckoon

One of the more articulate speeches out of the Dail I've seen. Needs to do something about the shirt and the sweat patches however - especially if he might have to use the media to get his shpeak in.

Yeah, definitely needs a can of spray. Or wear light coloured shirts.

FL/MAYO

I would have voted for him, he seems to be brutally honest which is refreshing. I watched that documentary on him that was posted earlier, it was hilarious in parts.

What was all the clattering of plates and cutlery? Was Healy-Rae having his dinner in the middle of the day?

And what need would he have for cutlery?

Well said and well done Lukeen.
And no script either unlike others in the house   :)

I thought that was an excellent speech, especially about the people who had to emigrate.

It was a video of someone's TV. Whoever was in the house was at the dinner!
