Strong statement in Liverpool website from club, still supporting him and are shocked at outcome as they say the FA and evra both said Suarez is not a racist and is of mixed race himself.

Did they really say that? Very, very naive if they did.

Why?

thanks very much for the advice.  as i said, i've not long started and i want to keep at it.  my first aim would be just to finish the half marathon, i'm not really bothered about the time to begin with so i suppose you're right in saying build up to the distance.  another question if you don't mind me plaguing you, in this weather should i be wearing skins or compression tights etc in training?  are they worth the money?
Never felt the need for leggings meself in the cold, shorts are always grand. Have a few cantebury under armour esque tops the i wear though in the cauld weather!

i have a few canterbury tops for the top half but was curious about the effectiveness of the leggings.  of course, if you read the product reviews from the manufacturers they are essential, i was just looking general opinions on them if anyone has a pair

I was hoping for a bit of advice about a half marathon.  I started running in August with my only previous experience of the sport coming from GAA fields and the infamous opening lines at training of 'right lads, round the field, 10 laps'.  I've developed a fierce liking for the sport and having done a couple of fun runs, i've got my distances up to between 8 and 10 miles.  I've signed up for the Liverpool Half Marathon on 18th March (very considerate organisers! :-[) but don't really know what approach to take to training.  Should I build up my distance to 13.1 miles or more than that or less?  In the weeks coming up to it, should I be reducing the regularity of running or what?  Any advice would be gratefully received.  Thanks

Did the FA fine or ban David Beckham for giving the finger to the England fans at Euro 2000?  I don't think they did.  I think Suarez was out of order giving the finger however you can't have one rule for one and one for the others.  Suarez should declare for England and become captain, that way he can give the fingers and racially abuse all he likes because the FA allow you do that if you're England captain ;)

Merseyside derby, Jack Rodwell wins the ball but the follow through catches the man and the red card is rescinded.  As far as i'm concerned, Spearing won the ball and the follow through caught the man and the card should be rescinded in this case also.  Doesn't hide the fact that Liverpool were shite tonight

At the moment our best team on form wouldn't have Andy Carroll in it.  However, the only way to build up any form is to play in a run of matches.  It's the same in any walk of life were anybody tries to improve be that work or sport or anything - sticking with it (or in this case him) is the only way.  Take his headed chances that have been close ie late on against Norwich and Man City, if he got a run of games and that kind of service; you'd like to think that he'd put them away.  Coming off the bench for 20 minutes to rescue games or get a late winner isn't the way to get the best out of him in my opinion.  However, I don't blame Kenny for not selecting him as the form of others is dictating that he shouldn't start.

When it comes to replacing Lucas, I can only see Kenny playing Spearing in that role.  While I can see the merit in playing 3 at the back with wing backs, I think that would upset the thing a bit too much.  We have a bit of momentum going at the minute so I'd prefer as close to like for like as possible.  If it's not going to be Spearing or Gerrard (which it won't be for now anyway) then a disciplined Henderson is another option.  He settled midfield down against Chelsea in the league when we needed it but he'd need to be disciplined and remember his defensive duties.

On another note, Maxi and Bellamy must start against Fulham.  Pace and an eye for goal has to have them in ahead of Downing and Kuyt.

what went on with the red card?  off the ball but who was on the receiving end?  punch or kick?

I'm living over here and done the tour a couple of times with parents and friends etc when they were over visiting.  It is worth doing but like someone has said, i don't think they do it on match days at all, i've never heard of a shortened one.  I'd hold off til you can do it properly.

On a similar note, i've had tours a few stadiums, which is the best one you've been to?
