County championship kicking off this week.
What do lads think? Any insight into any of the teams.

Still quiet a few travelling by all accounts

Laois man

Big wins so far for Cbolla and Rathdowney /Errill in the first round of the Cship.

C/B and R/E absolutely flying. Very impressive. Abbeyleix shot themselves in the foot by playing a sweeper. The byrnes totally crowded out with no room.
Good to see some championship games outside OMP. Makes for a much better atmosphere

Galtee1

Ballacolla v Harps
Abbeyleix v Rosenallis
Rathdowney v Portlaoise
Camross v Castletown

Anyone make a claim for any upsets this weekend? Id expect 4 big wins for the favourites

Laois man

Harps should be testing Cbolla if they have ambitions of winning a final in the next few years.

Maybe Camross and Castletown will be a bit "competitive". Although there's no jeopardy, there's big bragging rights up for grabs.
You'd also be hoping Portlaoise are able to stay with RE for a while but doubt if they can win that one.

Very difficult to see the Harps containing the firepower Ballacolla have at their disposal. No doubt they have some excellent young talent throughout their team but its a different kettle of fish trying to curtail the likes of Picky, Steven B, A Corby and Willie D

Castletowns result in Rd.1 would suggest the reigning county champions will have far too much.

With the lack of jeopardy with no relegation this championship wont take off until semi final stage.
It will be interesting to see if there is any new spectator spotted throughout the games the weekend who is potentially linked to the senior hurling job

Laois man

Could be a Tipp man at them🤔🤔

I wonder are we better off holding off until Waterford, Galway (possibly Dublin)do their business?

There will be a few in the running for those jobs who will be disappointed.
They may be tempted given that the job they wanted probably won't be available for a minimum 3 years.

A manager in place for the early stages of the championship is a little overrated. We don't have too many rough diamonds that aren't known about.

Abbeyleix v Rosenallis
Draw 11/1

SCFC

Second game in OMP tonight was an absolute cracker.
An unbelievable effort from Portlaoise who looked really good apart from both RE goals which were very preventable. Bad puck out for the first one and a simple ball to cut out for John M Foley missed led to the second.
But their attack was a joy to watch. DJ White a real livewire and Rigney and Bergin excellent. Eddie Critchley was the best I've seen him too.
RE to be fair battled back well but they have a lot of work to do.
First game was a hard watch. Camross poor enough apart from a 10 minute spell after half time. No fireworks! Castletown gone now. Nothing to play for in the third game.

Laois man

Second game was very good. Just a question or did I see it wrong did portlaoise bring on 6 subs last night??
