Whatever about kiplings views, its a wonderful piece of writing. It has become overused however, and because of that seems cheesy now, which is a real pity.
At Wimbledon, the line 'If you can meet with triumph and disaster, and treat those two imposters just the same...' is above the door out onto centrecourt. The BBC coverage of the final had Nadal and Federer read alternate lines of the poem - it was very well done, and a bit of an anticlimax to switch over and see Sean Boylan reciting it in an ad. I have to say however, Seans rendition was better; Nadals halting english made me doubt if he knew what he was saying
