GAA Discussion / NFL & Provincials 2025
July 31, 2024, 12:54:37 PM
When are the draws/ fixtures released?

With the lunacy around Armagh support you could see every League home game being all-ticket, in fact I'd say it's a certainty. Can also see a Saturday night league opener away to Dublin so the GAA can squeeze the Orchard ££ tit to the max.

In regards to USFC, highly unlikely to get a 3rd gift draw in a row, probably don't want one.

General discussion / Wills

Anybody drafted their own will? Job best left to a Solicitor? Bearing in mind this is in NI.

I was drafting up the info that I was looking included on a will and after looking at a few online templates & getting it half presentable on a word document I think I'm 2 witness signatures away from having the job done tbh.

GAA Discussion / Armagh next steps
July 03, 2023, 10:37:54 AM
At the risk of total pollution by our friendly neighbours what would Armagh supporters like to see happen next year? New management? Geezer stays but with a change in direction?

Its the latter for me. I've been assuming for a while Ciaran McKeever's fingerprints have been all over our style of play (last 2 seasons particularly) as it developed into the current eye cancer. I believe McGeeney has an agreement to stay until the end of next season anyway, I hope he stays along with the more senior players for at least another season. There has to be a change in style or at the very least mindset, which is very easy to say but much harder to implement. We're obviously not a million miles away as it stands.

Tickets are available online now. See its a GAAGO game as well.

Have I liked one too many Conspiracy Theory tiktok videos or tweets? I've been seeing a bit of this on my various social media timeliness. ( BRIC countries trying to usurp the US Dollar as the world's reserve currency). I'm sure it would be a decade + to make any headway but that would have enormous economic implications for the US. The Ukraine War & fallout seems to be accelerating the process.

It was always going to happen with the increased competition. I stopped my sub last year sometime, I found myself adding stuff to the watch list and realised I was never getting round to watching any of them, was increasingly a waste of £ . Kept on Prime until recently but chopped it too. Disney is the only one left in our house, can't see it lasting either tbh. Will maybe put one of them back on in the Winter.

Great article in the Sunday Times Culture mag asking a few of their writers to share 'which record rocked their world growing up and their most recent musical discovery'.

One of the earliest songs I can remember loving was Bucks Fizz - Speed it up, there's been plenty in between but 2 perma favourites- Waterfall by Stone Roses & One by Metallica that made a huge impression are still the go to.

Recent discovery is more taxing, I find nearly anything new I listen to is 'old' but I've only recently discovered it! Honourable mention to The Acid Runner by ilario Alicante - great dance tune

General discussion / Dental work / Cost
June 04, 2021, 03:23:08 PM
I was recently quoted £2,000 for a solitary tooth implant for a molar. I unfortunately had work like this done in my 20s by the same practice and it was available as an NHS / part payment option. Now they apparently can't do this type of work and can only refer you on, same parent company surprise surprise. At least the Dentist had the decency to look embarrassed when I snorted my derision and gave him a bit of a quizzing. I could go to Turkey and get a Dick Emery set for that ffs.

I avoided that movie for years because I thought there's no way that's going to be good, I mean Drumming ffs

I feel like I'm missing something in this whole transgender argument thing. He's largely been ostracised by his friends and enemies, the main thrusts of his arguments seem fairly sensible to me?? ??? Cant say I've delved too deep into the various Twitter threads on it as the PCness of it would drive u mad. I wouldn't even know how to be PC in a discussion about it tbh.

Technically or if it came to disputing a claim legally, when does a pre-existing condition begin - at referral from a GP to a specialist for investigation or when you are officially diagnosed by said Specialist?

This is in North.

I'll freely admit knowing next to nothing about Irish Dancing but I'd be ambivalent enough about what I do see.  Is it a big addition to Irish cultural life? Is it culture, a sport, a beauty pagent. It does seem to attract a lot of competitive parents.

Anyone ever used Hypnosis in a serious way - Quit smoking or the like? (Not running round thinking you're a chicken) Would possibly be interested in applying it in a sporting sense and would love to hear any experiences.

US boy, 9, killed himself after homophobic bullying, mum says - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-45323933

That's just so horribly tragic but leaves a few questions in my mind.
