Who do you rate as contenders for Sam and in what order. My opinion based on current form:

Front Runners
Tyrone
Kerry
Cork

Realistic Chasers
Galway
Dublin
Mayo
Derry
Monaghan

Still a bit to do

Meath
Armagh
Donegal
Down
Wexford
Kildare

Wont make an impact but might case an upset

Fermanagh
Westmeath
Tipp
Sligo
Antrim
Cavan
Limerick
Roscommon
Leitrim
Laois
Louth
Wicklow

Might win a match, can't see anything after that (no disrespect)
Offaly
Longford
Clare
Carlow
London
Waterford

Not next nor near it
New York

By the way this is my opinion on how I think things stand, so no personal attacks please. Also please give your own giving the above format if you wish.

Surprised with where you have placed Antrim.

Realistic chasers I reckon.

I'm actually optimistic of Antrim beating Donegal.

Are you blonde Oak?

No, why do you ask?

Ps. Do you wear glasses? If so put them on and read my closing line.

You're missing one county (Apart from Kilkenny)

Hard to argue with that, I'd probably change one or two around but nothing major, oh and I'd put kildare in there somewhere, probably in with the still abit to do crowd.

knew I'd forget someone!! Kilkenny dont compete for sam...

I don't think there's much difference between the teams in your 2nd and 3rd groups, except Wexford. You've largely separated them based on this year's league form, which is questionable criteria. I also think Offaly should be in the fourth group, definitely ahead of Wicklow and Leitrim. You've forgotten Kildare. Decent effort.

Anyone else fancy a go?

Looks fairly sensible.

Cork always seem to be talked up at this time of year only to come up short in the later stages though.

I'd have Tyrone and Kerry only as front runners.

There's not much point Oak93 as you have it right by and large, however I do think that Limerick and Offaly could do much better than their league form suggests. The problem for teams like those this year is that there'll be some big fish in the early rounds of the qualifiers, including Kerry (who'll be beaten by Cork in Munster IMO) but Limerick will get to the Munster final and if Offaly can avoid the bigger teams initially I think they'll both do well.

Fuckit I'm gonna stick my neck out again and say that Cork are not in the top 3. In my humble opinion I think they are in the "Still a bit to do" category... I have had many arguments with a lot of people over this but I am still to be swayed on it. Their match with Monaghan in the Division 2 Decider though may well impress me and make me think they should be higher up the pecking order but until then I still think they haven't produced against any decent team 'when it has mattered' in a long time!
