He was a journalist in the North in the early 70s. You saw a whole different side of him on an episode of After Dark.

First saw him on game Game for a Laugh  and wasn't very impressed. I was unaware of his prior journalism career until I saw him on a Channel 4 late night discussion program called After Dark where he was brilliant in an episode focusing on the early years of the Troubles.

Aged 78. Seen him on TV a year or two ago , and he didn't look great. Looked a lot older. Must have had  health problems  (well, he obviously did because he's now died, but you know what I mean)
