First saw him on game Game for a Laugh  and wasn't very impressed. I was unaware of his prior journalism career until I saw him on a Channel 4 late night discussion program called After Dark where he was brilliant in an episode focusing on the early years of the Troubles.

Remember watching Going for gold when  I was off sick from school.  Often wondered whether the likes of  Henri from  Belgium  was really Pete from  Leicester

Aged 78. Seen him on TV a year or two ago , and he didn't look great. Looked a lot older. Must have had  health problems  (well, he obviously did because he's now died, but you know what I mean)

Ah here now, as much as we'd only 4 channels then and maybe RTE on a good day weather wise the TV was turned off when that shíte came on.
