Does the church believe in anything it used to?

Pick a book. Any book. Tell everyone it is the word of god and then manage the slow distancing of your church from the text. Do this by only publishing the text in a language nobody speaks. Then tell people that any obvious lie in the text is really the truth but a truth beyond ordinary understanding. Anything that makes no sense at all can be brushed off by telling people that your god is showman of the first rate and can be relied upon to act in mysterious ways. This will also cover any instances of the god critter acting in complete contradiction to the characteristics attributed to them. But pick a text that is bat shit and condemns all sorts. That way you pick what you want to hate. You can justify what you like to yourself and absolutely nothing to anyone with a functioning brain

Very simple.Practice homosexuality or any other sinful activity,stay away from the Church and don't be a hypocrit.Turn away from sin and return to the Church and a compassionate welcome back to the fold.You cannot be sinful and in meaningful communion with the Church
