General discussion / NIE connection
October 15, 2018, 04:09:17 PM
I'm waiting on NIE to connect a new build house to grid.

Application made NIE in April '18. So almost a 7 month wait so far and I've heard about a guy who is waiting a year!

House isn't isolated or away from existing line etc.

Anybody any experience? Is this the norm?

Thanks

General discussion / Things the United States do well.

1) Plumbing. Super flush action and helpful automation in most bathrooms.

2) Vehicle tag plates on rear only. Makes all the lovely Cadillacs, Lincolns and Lexus look all the nicer.

Anything else?

GAA Discussion / O'Neills website
June 18, 2015, 10:54:55 AM
Don't know if this has been mentioned before on here.

I saw a Down jacket on the O'Neills website for £35 and said to the woman it would be a nice gift to get for the birthday. I was surprised at the quality of it for the price when it arrived and when I queried it she said it was €60.

Turns out now that when she goes to the o'neills website the prices are in Euro but when I go they are in sterling (and for the jacket you'd have to say better value).

Something to do with computer server location I suppose (both of us sit in Belfast) but something to look out for.

This is a new thread set up with just the one intention : to call Paul McComiskey (and others) back that they may take their places on the Down Senior Football team again...

I hope to comment from time to time over the coming days, weeks, months & years and hope that Paul (and others) are reading.

The Home Advantage Gods smile on County Down once again.

We've had the upper hand over the lily whites for a few years now so they'll put up a massive fight you'd think.

Yesterday's performance is no indicator but all in all we have to be content enough. Laverty would have caused trouble to any team yesterday.

What odds on Benny signing off in Newry with another 'special' against Kildare?

Well, will we have open football or another game of chess  like we saw in breffni park?

Lookin forward to it. Long time since we took a big scalp in newry.

GAA Discussion / What do you do for a living?
October 26, 2012, 04:57:55 PM
The quality and sheer lenght of some individual posts on here never ceases to amaze me.

It got me thinking as to how some of the boards most contributing members make a living, given the obvious time they can/do put into their posts at all times of the day including "working hours".

I'm expecting quite a few servants of the state but will wait to see what the stats conclude.

At the time of writing I am winding down for the week as a white collar employee.
