After last night's county committee meeting an appeal/request from Lamh Dhearg to be entered into Div 2 Hurling was approved - 9 team Div 2 this year - knock on coming lower down the leagues - Cushendun now avoid relegation and stay in Div 3.

in JHC there was no re-draw as St. Brigids Belfast pulled out of adult hurling, and so Cloughmills took their spot in the first round.
WHAT!!!!

Lamhs are a good team  and strong for div 3 but what da fook does that say about rules and regulations. if your relegated then you stay down until you win or league structures change, but change for everyone. will st Johns now ask to go up to div one now?

Some times in the early stages of matches players are pent up and do things they would not do 5minutes later.  A sensible ref like McEnaney would have booked the player and told him to calm down and warn him that he was on a knife edge.  But then Mr Duffy has never been a sensible ref.  He always has to be the centre of attention - it always has to be about him - he has caused all sorts of trouble at games in the west yet somehow seems to have risen to the top of the pile. Its not the first time he has needed an escort but having said that nothing excuses the behaviour of some of the supporters and  players.  Whens the last time a county had two teams in croke Park on Paddies Day?

It is still a sending off and given the controversey over Kenneally taking Murphy out of it from the throw ion last year I am sure refs feel under pressure to ensure something like that doesn't happen again.  I also think that McEananey would have been close enough to calling ti a red and by the letter of the law the ref was right in his actions.

2006 was the last time there were 2 teams from the same county in CP on Patrick's day, Portumna and Salthill Galacticos won the double for Galway clubs that day.

cheers BCB, but sure nothing decided yet Sat nights game will be tight, this will give a few lads a weeks rest to sort out any injuries.

Dublin under lights!!!

they've brought Jesus on.. they'll need him at the minute

6 points hard to get back with 14 men.but they could do it.. sorry 13 men maddness

Yes red card in my opinion. what was he thinking!!! bloody eejit may have cost his club the All Ireland

the supporters will want to blame the referee but 20 sec in is the same as 40 minutes in. only person the supporters should blame is that player.

don't think the fist pas rule is the problem. he'll call it for both. though i don't think its for club games yet

well think he did get a slap, their manager won't help their cause by berating him off the pitch. I'm a referee also and should some arse come on and abuse me.... well I'm only human ;)

the Clare team aren't great, industrious but lack quality, but may they just nick it if they tag on a fews scores.

winners coming from other semi? think the referee is being very harsh on Portlaois

Astonishing revelation today in the Gaelic Life - Milltown claims he lost them the final by giving his side the wrong tape to review. Fair play to him though - takes a big man to hold his hands up.

so you read the hurling page ;D

We may not get a good start tomorrow (we never do) but i think we will nick it by a point. we were favourites form the Ulster final O'Neill.........
