'Celebrity news' who gives a f**k?

I think 'real' news is too depressing.

Celebrity "culture" is depressing. Much like pop music. It's like a bad smell that is best avoided at all costs but it seems to linger in every corner and there seems to be a presumption that everybody would like to smell it and smell like it.

It's only when you remove it from your life that you suddenly realise and can begin to appreciate what clean air smells like.

As for celebrity "culture" being seen as conservative; well I guess it depends on your definition of conservatism.
