Suppy Sunday

Was away and listened to the 2nd half on the wireless, sounded like a barn storming 2nd half

Arsenal now holding the infamous bottle

Quote from: Gael80 on March 10, 2024, 05:57:13 PMGreat game for the neutral. There is no other team in world football that survive that second half. The atmosphere and drive from that Liverpool team was insane. Klopp's teams have fell short in most title races and today was the chance to open a gap, they were not ruthless.

I sense City will be delighted to survive today and I think will go on to win the title from here.
To be fair I think Liverpool be happy with a point also, City missed a couple of chances in second half also, Kelleher saving from Foden and Doku hitting the inside of the post.
Great game.

It's been a familiar line

Been listening to both talk sport and 5 live while I'm driving here and both sets of presenters have said it numerous times to people calling in..

Back yourself, from the two I heard one was a City fan and the other an Arsenal

I put a wee smiley face there in the post to lighten it up, ya big girls blouse
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

Great game.
Mistakes are probably just around the corner,  but to have lads from Cork and Tyrone replacing injured so-called superstars, and being just as good as them, it's incredible. I'm sure the whole of Ireland is cheering us on in the run-in 😀

Was thinking that myself Hound. Elite level and neither looked out of place. Like the days of Whelan Staunton etc

Doku challenge on Macalister is a bang on peno surely?Between it and Havertz not getting road for obvious dive Saturday night potential big swings in title race.

Sure, another double standards decision was Mc Alister being held back by jersey pulling for the Man City Goal. Var ruled out a Virgil goal v Chelsea in the league cup for something similar.

Anyone else other than Man City Liverpool get that penalty all day long.

The one in the league cup final was for offside. The one yesterday cannot be offside because its a corner.
The issue with the Endo one in the cup final was that he interfered with play (which I didn't agree with). Ake interferes with play on MacAllister yesterday but that's ok because as I said its a corner, not a free,  so the offside rule does not apply.

Different things. In the final Endo was penalised because he was found to be interfering with a player while in an offside position which is fair enough. I dont think it had to be  deemed a "foul" to be an offence, similar to the rule about standing in a keepers eyeline while offside.  Whether you deem it to be worthy of disallowing a goal is a separate point. Ake would have to have been adjudged to have committed a clear foul on MacAllister to disallow the goal as offside not an issue. For what its worth I dont think Ake did enough to warrant a foul being given.

The Doku incident on the other hand is a joke. Havertz also seemed pretty clear cut.

All in all I woudl probably have taken a draw at the start but given that second half performance, it feels like 2 points dropped.

Should have won that game, but could have lost it too. It was funny to watch how the normally unflustered De Bruyne lost it when subbed. Looked like he had been dragged through a hedge backwards.City couldn't handle the heat in the second half.  Jota would have nailed at least one of those chances put on a plate for Diaz. Diaz had to take one of them.  He was brilliant otherwise.   The draw isn't the worst result.  City and Arsenal drawing the best result for Liverpool?
That's just, like your opinion man.

You can say that again.

I see Michael Edwards is going back to Liverpool, turned down Chelsea and Manchester United.
He was behind some of the great signings under Klopp.
