Quote from: Tony Baloney on January 08, 2024, 10:42:01 PMLoad of balls? Only for simpletons?

This wife's hairdresser told her to treat a wart on the young fellas hand by cutting a potato into quarters, rubbing the potato on the wart, driving to a crossroads and then throwing each quarter up each road at the crossroads.  :o

I think we'll just get it burned off at the surgery!

Had this cure put on me for warts when I was 11 or 12 I think. Had to put them in a brown paper bag and throw them over my sholder into a field somewhere where I was most likely not destined to retravel again.

EDIT: It wasn't just anyone could do it, had to go to a lady for the cure.

Heap of shite, ended up having them frozen/burned off by the GP

Quote from: trailer on January 06, 2024, 04:37:53 PMWhiskey drinkers are always arseholes. Waistcoats with jeans and stupid beards. Wear those converse or vans trainers even though they're over 40.
Sorry, but you all know this to be true.

Bordeaux reds are the best. Californian reds can be lovely as well. Love a nice Chablis. Also like the odd Australian Syrah.

Any reds from California are generally shite, but this is all subjective

Possibly worst take of the year

Quote from: AustinPowers on January 01, 2024, 01:57:36 AMAnother New years eve  comes and goes , and   I blatantly  refuse  to utter  those three words yet again

never liked the  new year.  Always thought it was  a hyped up load of bollix

Judging by  reports,  more people are  thinking the same

What grinds my gears is people saying "Happy New Year" still in the middle of January. I'm dreading the next few weeks. Might just avoid eye contact in the office, or not go in at all the more of that.

Why? What's the bother? It's just a type of greeting - recognizing a new calendar year

Not going to put it up here, but if you've ever had the misfortune to hear Bob Dylan's rendition of Hark the Herald Angels...

Mariah gets a lot of flack these days in the memes, but her Christmas tune is still a banger. Shane always made a good run this time of year and this year even more so with his unfortunate passing.

Let's see your favourites - even the obscure ones:

Baby it's cold outside - well they've tried to cancel it but it's still gonna be one of my favorites - particularly this version with Tom Jones and Cerys Matthews

IMO 2000 miles by The Pretenders is a criminally underrated Christmas banger

Happy Christmas GAABOARD.

Quote from: Tony Baloney on December 12, 2023, 10:26:32 PMEvery A&E should have security and if you lay a finger on staff you get lifted by the peelers without treatment.

Absolutely. Yet there was social uproar earlier this year when the peelers were discussing carrying Tazers, they were deemed to be too dangerous to be deployed by the cops FFS!

Somewhere between the heavily armed US police approach, where you may get shot in the wrong - and this softly softly cater to the dregs of society approach in the UK lies the key. However the social fabrics in each society prevent them from moving away from the status quo to something that more adequately addresses the challenges faced by those in public service (health care, retail etc...). Listened to a man from Limerick today discussing the rampant shoplifting and abuse of small business owners, its brutal what's happening there, and even in Dublin with those scumbags after the stabbing attack.

If someone intent on destroying your livlihood came face to face with a shotgun, they may think twice.

I know he's a ballix and all but wouldn't this price hike be the kind of thing the biggest little c**t in the country would like to get his teeth into?

Quote from: screenexile on December 07, 2023, 03:01:49 PMIf Jon Rahm goes to LIV the whole thing is fucked!!!

What a mess...

Wasnt that long ago Rahm said he had enough money blah blah, they are all full of shit but if he does go there will probably be a domino effect.

Would say Cantlay is busting his balls to go. PGA Tour will be fairly worthless if they lose a few of the top ones

I think all they are going to do is ruin the PGA tour. LIV is still a shite spectacle and as posted by another I wouldn't cross the road to watch it. Time may correct me but I don't see how LIV becomes something mainstream and will always be a side show. Losing DJ, Bryson, Brooks - didn't really damage the PGA tour all that much, and I didn't really miss seeing those lads in action. Brooks maybe, he's always good for a bit of drama.

Rahm is a potential nail in the coffin.

Quote from: brokencrossbar1 on December 07, 2023, 04:47:39 PMLurgan is no different than most urban areas, apart from the fact it's full of Spades!  Only kidding of course. Through football and work would have been in Lurgan many times. Footballers have the typical North Armagh thing going on but that's just a bit of craic.

As for drugs they are everywhere, absolutely everywhere. Would be out regular enough at gigs and events and while drink is always a plenty there's a serious amount of stuff being sniffed. Thankfully not in my direct circle but I was beside a table of ones the other night,  the 'lovely people' and there was some amount of toing and froing to the toilets!

I remember when you'd wear a tie to go to the Arena, taking the bus down from Lurgan. There were two buses would go from the Cellar Lounge every Saturday night. Went back a few years later and it was all shirtless lads blowing whistles, open drug dealing in the car park outside. A mate went to the bar and asked for a bottle of beer and the bar girl looked at him like he wasn't a bit wise. It was almost exclusively bottled water they were selling for the Ecstasy crowd.

Ye wore a tie to the Arena?! The ecstasy was flyin in the mid 90s across all of those Arena type nightclubs.

Quote from: J70 on October 19, 2023, 09:49:07 AMRebecca Lowe has been doing a great job anchoring NBC's Premier League coverage in the US for years now. Robbie Earle, Robbie Mustoe and Tim Howard are decent as pundits too.

10000%. It's been a great thing to happen to USA based fans. Compared to the $70 Fox Soccer channel package with Tommy "He's rattled the auld onion bag" Smyth.

Le Saux, Dixon all good color commentators as well.

Saffron - I hope no ones family member ever gets raped. However I hope you will agree I didnt at any point say I needed video evidence of rape. There are other types of evidence - witness, medical etc. None of this has been provided and we all know that if such evidence existed Israel would have it on the front page of every newspaper. The story is bullshit.

Grim reading, that one would hope isn't fabricated by an appropriate news agency. You seem very very secure in your belief, which is impressive in such a complicated world.
