General discussion / Serious Skirmish at U17 Game
May 21, 2015, 11:45:40 PM
https://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/world-of-sport/player-s-dad--punched-to-ground-and-kicked-in-head-as-he-lay-on-touchline-102411726.html

See reports of a bad skirmish in an u-17 youth game in Dublin, havent heard any reports outside of uk euro sport, good timing to keep the mis behaving of the Gaelic footballers. In all serious though, i don't know why people intentionally kick people in the head, says although about their mindsight and make up of a coward i say.

GAA Discussion / GAA Matches on You Tube
April 02, 2015, 11:37:53 PM
Given the amount of Gaelic matches played over the years, there is a distinct lack of full length games on you tube especially all-ireland finals. Its a pity someone in croke Park or in the archive section of Rte doesn't look at the possibility of uploading games onto you tube. Seen some good stuff on Youtube by Kilcar GAA, Watching Tyrone v Roscommon NFL 1992 on Chrome cast now.

GAA Discussion / GAA Referees
August 10, 2014, 05:19:32 PM
May be a topic already about this, and we all go on about how poor the football referees are but the call from the referee in the Kilkenny v Limerick game there in the hurling is absolutely shocking, Man hacked down way worst than what Sean Cavanagh done last year, seemingly inside the area with a deliberate trip with the hurl. ref awards 21m free and does not award a yellow for the tackle. The commentor actually said it should been a red. So what qualities does it take to be a ref, missing the f**king obvious and been blind seems to be a must.  We see on TV the night if they go to town on the delibrate hack down the way they did with Cavanagh last year

Where do i put in my complaint,  Ferenc Puskas a deep lying midfielder not an out and out striker, this is squeezing him out of my team, alias i picked the best of what on offer, you cant look by Pele, Maradome and Cruyff up front.

Oh well i go with
                   Zoff,

Cafu, Beckenbeur, Maldini, Alberto,

Garrincha, Matthaus, Rivelino,

  Maradona, Pele, Cruyff,

Watching BBC Newsline there, they are happy as Larry (not Reilly) that unemployment in the north has fallen for 9 months running. To them this is a sign that Northern Ireland is coming out of a recession.
With a brother now working in England and the other in Dublin, and some friends now in England, Germany and New Zealand, is this reduction not more a sign of young people moving aboard due to lack of work and not the supposed increase in work up here. Its all about statistics and how u use them to give a false image

A case of smoking mirrors i doubt

The rugby league world cup has started the day, with England V Australia on now, good game by the way, but is there any point for this competition which since 1968, Australia have won all but twice (Great Britain 1972 and New Zealand last time out 2008)
Only 2 teams capable of winning in this, in Australia and New Zealand with home advantage giving England a slight chance. When compared with its other rughy sinuous, this event comes in a poor second

GAA Discussion / Cork Ladies GAA dominance
September 29, 2013, 10:17:55 PM
Forget kerry the golden years or the greatest team ever in Kilkenny hurling team of the past 10yrs. Cork winning 8 ladies football titles in 9yrs  must be the most impressive of records

September 25, 2013, 09:31:18 PM
I see its been reported a former Irish Ranger from the midlands, apparently saved alot of people during this shoot out, with a former British soldier, both been involving in exchanges of gunfire in the initial stages of the assault, neither seemed to be part of the building security guards

General discussion / Rocky V Star dies
September 02, 2013, 09:09:58 PM
Former world heavyweight champion Tommy Morrison, who was widely known for his power-punching style, a charismatic smile and role in the "Rocky V" movie, has died at the age of 44.

I actually remembered when he boxed and was another of long line of failed great white hopes

There may be a topic on this so sorry if starting one again

Just watching this on TV, nothing offensive or anything, but why do travellers from different parts of Ireland all sound the same?
They seem to have no local accent, even dealing with travellers in Belfast , they all seem to have a very strong southern accent even though they may have been born in belfast,

GAA Discussion / Hurling puts football in the shade
August 11, 2013, 04:04:07 PM
As always when played in the right way the game of hurling is hard to surpass and i am a out and out football man who never played hurling.
You watch the dublin cork game on tv and it is easily better for spectators than anything the football has produced this year.
