I remember watching a Railway Cup final back i n the 60s on TV.
Dessie Ferguson for was playing for Leinster and in the closing seconds he got a lovely pass and was straight in front of goal with only the goalie to beat.
He was coming in at full speed and decided to take a drop kick from about the 14 yards line.
He happened to stumble as he drew his foot back and he knocked a corner flag over!
He had the grace to shake his head in disbelief and smile.
