If you're only getting into it then something £600/700 would get you a decent bike. Then if you stick at it and really get into it you will upgrade and your first bike will become your winter bike. Those Planet X bikes are hard to beat for value all the same. When looking for something I would look for a shimano 105 groupset, or an ultegra groupset would be a bonus. Where do you live?

Thanks Jim, I live in Newcastle.

Budget wise under £1000 but I could push it if it would make a big difference in the standard of bike. Height I am 5 7.

Hi folks

I'm looking some advise on buying my first road bike. Any help on what to look for or any good retailers would be welcomed. Cheers

What's happening with the girl online(being widely named, abused & threatened) now is appalling. I wonder if the idiots who are doing it even realise that she never accused Evans of anything.

My take on it is that she never claimed that she was raped. She suspected that her drink was spiked?
Whoever decided this should go to court should be hauled over but of course that wont happen.
Evan's now has a case for defamation of character, wrongful imprisonment and loss of earnings as a result. He'd be a fool not to pursue that.

Yes but had she not felt she was raped she could have stood up in court and said that. She didn't because she believed she had been raped. She has been let down badly by the CPS here.

Was this fixture originally due to be played in May? If so is there not a 13 day period from the date of the original fixture within which the refixed game must be played?

Staying the night before would seem like a pretty smart move. Could be used to explain why his DNA was found at the scene if arrested but do be seen leaving with your face uncovered holding a gun after the murder is ridiculous.

I'd mainly follow companies or bodies I have an interest in or that would be within my particular Line of work. Good to keep up to date with what's going on. Also if you follow companies you can see what jobs they have going.

Folks, thinking doing a bit of travelling around Japan and maybe into South Korea, anyone been to that part of the world? Any advice on what to see or useful links to help plan it. Was planning to book it myself and make my own arrangements as opposed to getting a packaged deal.

The personal abuse certain people are getting on this board is a complete disgrace. Many of these men and women give their time freely to try and better Down in all codes. Yes they make mistakes and with the beauty of hindsight would do things differently. Maybe some of those posters calling for the removal of the County Executive may put themselves forward at convention to replace them if they feel they could do a better job. Stop whinging from behind your keyboards and do something productive to better our county.

Rusty enough looking return for Jon Jones last night. Poor enough fight. Fair play to OSP going five rounds on three weeks notice.

Demetrious Johnson was utterly sensational though. Most complete fighter in the promotion by a mile.
Yeah not what Dana White wanted. A 5 round mediocre enough performance from Jones, lessens the chances of Jones v Cormier II beign UFC200. Rumours that McGregor might get back on the card yet.

Johnson was spectacular alright.

He is according to his twitter

Lowlifes.

Part of the problem is this stuff is so arcane and abstract that most people don't know what the f**k is going on. Murder, terrorism etc. are clear, black and white acts, whereas most of us wouldn't even know what the hell a derivative is.

I was reading a book about this whose name escapes me. But essentially they were bundling up crap mortgages and AIG were insuring these for 0.5%, which was utterly ridiculous. Now you or I might not have a clue, but the likes of AIG were well able to hire someone with a clue, and only gross negligence meant that they did not do so.

Book may have been 'the world's greatest trade'. It was based on John Paulson. Describes in detail how he was able to bundle up bad debts, give them triple A ratings even though they were worthless and sell them on. Then able to take out insurance on them failing even though he no longer owned them. Example the book gave was like selling someone a dodgy car and then taking out insurance on it to crash.

At uni read a number of papers on the finanical crisis. Problem with these banks and hedge funds is they are often big backers to Presidential campaigns.  White house isnt going to bite the hand that feeds it.
