I heard both Billy O'L and Eddie Kinsella have been turned down, any truth in the rumour they went up north to meet a candidate? Getting a bit ridiculous now at this stage. It was to be decided last week and still nothing a week later. Does anyone have any info about it???

For last few weeks was hearing Billy OLoughlin from everyone....the delay on the announcement might indicate it's not him

In last week or so have heard James Horan and also Mick Dempsey names mentioned, no idea if any truth to either of them

If the story going around at time about why Naas and Paul Kelly parted ways are true I wouldnt like to see him as Laois manager.

Of the names I've seen linked so far Eoin Kearns and Brian Flanagan would be the best candidates imo

Vacancies in Ballyroan, Graigue, Ballyfin, Killeshin, Ratheniska , Courtwood from what I've heard. I assume will also be one in Port once Leinster campaign over given Martin Murphy involvement in new Offaly set up. Rumours John Sugrue set to be the new Ratheniska  manager

Congrats to P/R, far the better team on the day workerd very hard and played some nice football at times in difficult conditions. Serious achievement to go straight from Junior to Senior. Some good individual performances tonight, especially the 2 Dunnes, Richie Hitchcock and Kieran Delaney. Colm Coss good for Mountmellick but they didn't seem to be able match P/ R at all in middle third

Heard on the laois today podcast, That Paddy Dunne from Rosenallis is gone in as coach for the laois minors with Conor Gorman, the man is after havinga great few years with Rosenallis good to see him taking the next step up into Intercounty coaching. So that's Donie Brennan and Paddy Dunne that's a strong Minor management in my eyes and all in there mid/late 30s. Looking forward to see what they can do now.

If true great to see young coaches who have shown ability at club level like Paddy and Conor involved with our county teams.

Donie has also shown promise as a coach, it might be tough juggle this job with his Laois Ladies role though

Conor Gorman the new minor manager according to Laois Today. Interesting appointment he has done a good job in Clonaslee.

Wasn't in the 4 names I heard were nominated for job but maybe my info was wrong

Rumour going around that John O'Loughlin back playing club in Laois with Rosenallis.

That would be surprising, considering he wouldn't play with them when he lived in Laois

Depressing competition. At least our hurling championship is competitive..... and a high standard

Not sure I'd agree with that. Portlaoise  pushed to within one score in last 3 games, excluding replays only one of the games from quarter finals on decided by more than 3 points.

A good few one sided games in hurling championship, and while it's reasonably competitive the results in Leinster would indicate quality is not as great as we would like to think. R/E are a team though that might change that if they win final

Hearing there's a heavy Thomas Davis involvement in backroom team.......surely we would be better giving Laois coaches these roles or have we no trust in our own people
