I'm not sure about the exact geography, but if I'm not mistaken Rhode and Tyrellspass would border each other, which means that there's a reasonable if less than 50% chance that there could be bordering clubs playing in a provincial final in two weeks. would be mad craic in the area I'd say, but I'm trying to think of any other instances where it might have happened, or even where bordering clubs might have met in the provincial championships.

Any examples?

Think Cross & Blaney met few years back in the Ulster-they would be pretty close

And Cross now meet Clontibret which isn't too far away either. Wonder if there are any examples of clubs from different provinces playing All-Ireland series where they are neighbouring?

We met twice in the Ulster championship.  In 1996 we played them in Clones and the build up was mad.  there were stories on men from Blaney going into pubs and laying massive bets on the counter and being matched.  The whole thing was spiced up by the fact that a lot of the players knew each other as we all socialised in Blaney at the weekends and there were a lot of relationships between people from the two areas eg Jim McConville is married to a Blaney woman who played  at the time for the faughs camogs/footballers. The craic was great and we all socialised after the game together.  The second game in 2000 was like that too but with bit more needle as we had beaten them easily in the first game.  They gave us the worst trimming we ever had at any level and it was a tough one to be involved in.

Croghan & its hill is dividing them. Drove through Tyrrellspass Sat evening and the town was quite enough, good to see they're taking it all in their stride!!!

The second game was great day but we never took it any further. Lost to Errigal Ciaran in the semi. Blayney (note the spelling  ;) ) waited for that day since 96 and played out of their skin. Thought we would win Ulster but it wasn't to be.

There was a great buzz alright in the build up. Taveys was the centre of the betting industry in the region for a few days. The first day in Clones was Prob must disappointing for Blayney as they took a while to get over it. We had a few injuries, Pip Duffy, Jason Hughes, but nothing prepared us for the display of Cross that day. The sleeping giant had arrived and as they say....the rest is history.

Round Three will be interesting. Could have been this weekend.

Not big on superstars a few intercounty players Roly Sweeney probably the "biggest" name, also Kevin O'Neill, Pa Murray, Ross Glavin and Kenny Duane. The are managed by former Kildare player SOS Dowling, I'd be a big fan of Galvin another player treated poorly by John Crofton. Daryl Flynn in midfield is one for the future, a very promising player.
