Been told that the Dromore vs. Trillick SFC Semi-final in Healy Park on Saturday evening is being shown on TG4 - awaiting to hear formal confirmation.

Eskra, as expected, had too much for Urney in the JFC. Big game for Drumragh tomorrow as a win against Cookstown in the other semi-final will promote them to Division 2 for 2022.

As for Trillick vs. Killyclogher, the reds were solid without being spectacular. KC were disappointing.

In mid ulster leagues there's 30 league games plus at intermediate level there's 5-6 cups so assuming you get through a round or 2 in a few of them you have 40 games.

Now I'm not suggesting that many games at GAA club level but there are certainly not enough games as it is so to suggest only playing 11 league games is madness. I really do think you'd lose a lot of lads to other sports. The training / games ratio is barely enjoyable as it is.

If you're playing at Intermediate level in soccer you'll be at least a half-decent player so it's not really a level that the majority of Gaelic football players would be at, who'd be more likely to line out at a junior level competition. Also the 30 league games only applies to Mid-Ulster Intermediate A grade, there's notably less games in the divisions below.

Nevertheless, I'd agree that a minimum promise of 12 competitive games a season (11 league & 1 championship) is too low. The GAA have said themselves in the past that they expect club players to get at least 20 competitive games per season and in Tyrone we've largely fallen short of that now for some time.

Things as they stand however are in a current state of flux, and fixture planning beyond the short term is difficult ATM, as these things have to be worked on from the top down. However if the GAA were to plan for the foreseeable future to have an intercounty "season" that ended in mid-July, then it leaves options open for club football in Tyrone. I've suggested for a while now that the football leagues in Tyrone move towards a 5 division model (either Divisions 1, 2, 3 & 4 with ten teams and the remainder in Div. 5 which based on teams entered this year would be 9 teams, or Divisions 1, 2 & 3 with ten teams with the remainder in Division 4 split into two sections, west & east) on a double round robin to give 18 league games. Under the earlier suggested GAA Intercounty calendar, the first nine rounds are "starred" to be played in April, May & June before the traditional July break & the planned All-Ireland intercounty final date with the remaining nine rounds played afterwards from late July to October either wrapped up before or with only a couple of rounds left before the club championships.

Heard a report today that the Fintona midfielder McGlinn planning a move to Dromore next year, big blow if true

Which one?

If only playing 11 league games a year is the answer then count me out. I'll go and play soccer - my local team play 40 games a season.

Just curious - what local soccer league arranges to have their clubs play close to 40 games a season (assuming there are at least two cup competitions to play for)?

If it's the case that the offending persons were associated with Carnew, then I'm very disappointed to hear & see it to put it mildly. Back when the Feile na nOg was in Tyrone in 2004 we hosted their girls football team and they were a decent bunch (at least then anyway). I recall some of their players coming back up to visit us over the following few summers from the friendships formed at the Feile.

Just for a moment going back to two of the Junior quarter finals, Drumragh were full worth for their win over a Glenelly side that never really got going, especially compared to their performance against Brackaville. Urney vs. Killyman was a closer contest than the form book would have offered, and Killyman can consider themselves unlucky that they didn't at least get the game to extra time, but the palmed goal by a clearly still not fully fit Johnny Lafferty was the killer blow. Given what I've seen and read so far, I reckon it'll be an Eskra vs. Drumragh final.

As for tonight's Senior game, Dromore did well not to panic after a stunning start by Dungannon, and managed to dig themselves back into the game. The loss of the two Jones's coming off for Dungannon seemed to be the biggest loss for them, and the team seemed to have ran out of legs by the second half of extra time with Dromore having a bit more in the tank. Very good game of football to watch for the neutral, well reffed and played with hardly any dirt by both teams, a great exhibition of club football in Tyrone - none of that will console Dungannon though, and it means for the 16th year running the reigning Tyrone SFC champions will have failed to successfully defended their title.

Also, hopefully the call for a doctor at Healy Park this evening wasn't for something too serious.

Good game in Fintona the lack of changing rooms in the inclement weather not good for player welfare.

I'm struggling to think why it's OK for intercounty teams to have changing room shelter but not club teams, the only reason I can think of is some perception that venues that host intercounty ties will have bigger changing rooms? Other than that, I'm lost.

Interestingly, I see Clogher sort of got around this issue by having the players take shelter in the team coach at half time.

Clogher def. Killeeshil 0-20 to 1-16 AET, Clogher's winning score coming from a free deep into the second period of extra time. Decent enough game in spite of the weather conditions.

I'm surprised someone didn't think of this sooner...

A museum says they gave an artist $84,000 in cash to use in artwork. He delivered blank canvases and titled them "Take the Money and Run."

Fintona doing gray work at the hurling, hopefully it will push on through to Senior level in a few years. Do you think it complements or hinders the football?

Not involved in the hurling end of things myself, but given how our footballers have performed this year at U15 & U13 age levels, it doesn't seem to be doing us any harm at least. In saying that it's not a team made up of only Fintona residents, there's some players from Dromore, Eskra, Trillick and that club a few miles up the Omagh Road called "St. Patrick's".
